Marco Mei is an Italian DJ and producer with over three decades of experience. His roots in afrobeat, funk, disco and early electronic music informed a style that has developed across clubs and festivals worldwide since the early 1990s.
Shared bills with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D'Void placed him within a respected international circuit early in his career. A residency at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh followed, opening the door to venues including Woo Bar, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk.
In 2009 he formed Bicycle Corporation with Stefano Ugliano, known as 6884, a production project rooted in house and techno. Signed early to 17:44 Records, their output has since spanned labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, GrooveTraxx, Suka and Revox, accumulating over fifty tracks and remixes with support from artists including Sneak, Mauro Picotto, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia and Above and Beyond.

Marco Mei's show from 16th January 2021 opens with Los Hermanos's Another Day on Mother Tongue Records, the Detroit collective led by Gerald Mitchell delivering a gospel-infused Soulful House track that establishes the show's warm, roots-conscious tone. KD Lang's Constant Craving in the Jori Hulkkonen Bootmix follows, the Finnish producer's rework of the 1992 country classic landing naturally within the House Music framework.
Klein & Mbo's Dirty Talk in the Greg Wilson Edit and Karizma's Lovely Dayz in the K2 Re-edit carry the set into deeper, more groove-led territory before Norenoise's Things To Say develops the melodic direction. Blaze featuring Palmer Brown's Do You Remember House in the Harry Romero Extended Remix arrives as a pointed editorial choice, the track's title functioning almost as a manifesto for the show's broader sensibility.
DJ Sneak's I Feel Groove and Gettoblaster's You Can't Bring Me Down sustain the House energy through the mid-section before Marco Faraone and Greeko's Armaghetton in the Jansons Extended Mix introduces a Tech House edge. Eli Escobar's Can't Stop Dancing in the Matt Jones Rework and Bombay Traffic's Boogie 3000 in Sven Tasnadi's Acid Twist on Headfire International follow, the latter's acid-inflected character adding a sharp contrast to the warmer selections around it.
Bjørn Torske's Bommelom on Fullpupp Records then introduces a Deep House quality rooted in the Norwegian producer's characteristically eclectic approach before Sparrow and Barbossa and Pippi Ciez's Tangerine in the Literatura Remix sustains the deeper direction. The Youngsters's Babylon Superstars featuring Dubdadda in the Moodymanc Righteous Dub Mix and Lindstrøm's Little Drummer Boy follow, the latter's Nu Disco warmth providing a brief but welcome change of texture.
Neil Young's Tonight's The Night in the Flying Mojito Bros Refrito arrives as one of the more unexpected selections of the show, the 1975 rock track recontextualised as a Disco edit in keeping with Marco Mei's fondness for reaching outside electronic music's conventional boundaries. Igor Gonya's Communication and Fairmont's Plastic Head Tv carry the set towards its close before Pig&Dan's Telegraphy adds a final Tech House flourish.
Grimes's New Gods in the Tale Of Us and Âme Remix introduces a Melodic House and Techno quality before Sasha Vs Franky Wah's Haunted closes the show on a progressive note. Marco Mei's 16th January 2021 show is a characteristically wide-ranging piece of programming, moving between Detroit Soulful House, Scandinavian Deep House, Disco edits and contemporary Tech House without losing its sense of groove and curatorial intent throughout.
