Bicycle Corporation is set to unveil episode 130 of their acclaimed 'Electronic Roots' series this week. Hosted on Scientific Sound Asia, Asia’s premier electronic music radio station, event promoter, and DJ agency, the show continues to reach both regional and international listeners with its diverse and expertly curated content.

Bicycle Corporation is the creative partnership of Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and multi-instrumentalist Stefano Ugliano, also known under the alias 6884. Marco’s career began in the early 1990s amidst Italy’s burgeoning house and techno scene.

As a founding member of the 'Urban People' collective, he played a vital role in shaping club culture in his home country. His reputation as a talented selector and producer soon spread beyond Italy, earning him opportunities to perform across Europe and Asia. Over time, Marco established himself as a respected figure in the international electronic music community, known for his genre-spanning sets and consistent presence behind the decks.

Stefano Ugliano, born and raised in Turin, Italy, demonstrated exceptional musical ability from a young age. A passionate student of classical piano, percussion, and drums, he developed a taste for both refined compositions by the likes of Chopin and the raw rhythms of West African instruments such as the Djembe.

Despite this traditional foundation, Stefano was captivated by the energy of electronic music and the craft of the DJ, a fascination that would shape his path. At a time when electronic music was still relatively inaccessible on Italian airwaves, Stefano immersed himself in production, dreaming of sharing his sounds with global audiences.

His determination, combined with a chance encounter with Marco Mei, laid the foundation for what would become Bicycle Corporation. The duo’s catalogue now includes over 50 releases across a wide range of genres, including Techno, Melodic House, Melodic Techno, Deep House, French House, and Tech House.

Their music has received acclaim from both underground circles and larger audiences, establishing Bicycle Corporation as a consistent presence in the evolving world of electronic music. Remaining grounded and respectful of their origins, Marco and Stefano have recently revisited their earlier works, making them accessible via their Bandcamp page. In parallel, they continue to serve as featured artists under the Scientific Sound Asia DJ agency, strengthening their presence across the Asian scene with radio shows, live gigs, and collaborations.

Electronic Roots 130 begins with a hypnotic foundation as Iron Curtis & Johannes Albert’s “Club L’Avenir (Baby B Eos Dub)” sets a warm House groove. Things shift into atmospheric terrain with the ambient textures of “Eclisse indolente” by J A & Donato Dozzy before diving into the pulsating rhythms of “Defiant” by Christian Nielsen and two standout collaborations from Mila Journée & Olivier Giacomotto, “Smash It” and “Don’t Do It”, both driving the Melodic House & Techno direction forward.

The energy intensifies as Madben drops “The Return Of The Hoover” with a Techno (Peak Time / Driving) edge, followed by the lush tones of “Where I’m From” by Cassian, SCRIPT, and Belladonna. Massano’s “Talking” and Amirali’s “Blink” pull the mix into a moodier zone, while Prins Thomas’ edit of “Meld” by Christian Engh reintroduces a laid-back Deep House vibe. Stereocalypse's “How No” (Âme Remix) and Sasha & Artche’s “Hold On” elevate the melodic thread further.

Progressive and Indie flavours begin to surface as Mt. Rave’s “Jarden” and Öona Dahl’s “High Priestesses (Theus Mago Chord Mix)” provide transitions into more eclectic territory. Yousef’s “We Got There In The End” and Melodic (IL)’s “Let’s Play House” add subtle Deep House textures before Amirali returns with “Morning Call”, leaning deeper into Indie Dance aesthetics. Electronica steps up next with “The M Word” by Maara & D. Tiffany and “Change It” by TouchTalk.

Closing out, Tending Tropic delivers a playful Nu Disco twist with “Terpentine” and “Kilimanjaro”, followed by Hiver’s “Dreamachine” reimagined by Gerd Janson. Amirali, Joplyn, and Weekend Heroes deliver the final touches of Indie Dance with tracks like “Crazy MF” and “The Wall”.
