French DJ and producer DJ King Flow returns with a new edition of Mixtape Addict, delivering a carefully curated exploration of underground hip hop. Broadcast via Scientific Sound Asia, the Vietnam-based international radio station and promoter, the show continues to operate as a global platform for artists who uphold the core principles of hip hop culture.

DJ King Flow began his journey at the age of fourteen, shaping a sound deeply rooted in boom bap while embracing a contemporary perspective. His approach remains firmly connected to the foundations of 90s hip hop, yet always engaged with the present, consistently supporting emerging voices from across the underground.

This capacity to bridge generations has earned him respect from both listeners and artists worldwide, positioning him among the most trusted selectors within lyrical hip hop. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with influential figures such as Ras Kass, Tragedy Khadafi, O.C., Juicy J and Khujo Goodie, relationships that underline his long-standing commitment to preserving the genre’s lineage.

Since launching Mixtape Addict in 2015, DJ King Flow has developed the project into a recognised hub for independent artists, bringing together radio shows, interviews and mixtape releases that spotlight genuine talent and reinforce the strength of the underground community. Alongside his work as a selector, he continues to broaden his creative range as a producer.

His instrumental album The Adventures of F.J. Parker weaves together jazz-influenced melodies, soulful textures, deep grooves and the gritty character associated with classic hip hop production. His 2025 releases, including Money, Give the Town Some Hope and several forthcoming collaborations, reflect ongoing artistic development and a clear dedication to his craft.

Interview Guest: Fuego Base.

Fuego Base is a hip hop artist from Hartford, Connecticut, whose music is rooted in gritty East Coast street rap and modern boom bap sensibilities. Emerging from Hartford’s independent scene, he has become one of the city’s most prominent contemporary voices, bringing wider attention to the region through his hard-edged storytelling and uncompromising delivery.

His rise gained momentum through his association with Black Soprano Family, the collective and label led by Benny the Butcher, which helped position him within the current wave of respected underground artists. This affiliation strengthened his presence across curated playlists, features and collaborations within the modern boom bap revival.

Fuego Base’s catalogue includes his widely recognised project Biggest Since Camby, released in 2023, which featured appearances from Benny the Butcher, Sheek Louch, 38 Spesh and Uncle Murda and solidified his reputation as a commanding lyricist. He followed this with Moving Base OT in 2024, further refining his sound and expanding his reach.

Earlier releases in the Say Dat series helped establish his foundation within the underground between 2021 and 2023, while his more recent EP Tell My Momma I’m Still a Rapper reflects continued creative output and growth. Tracks such as The Warehouse and Battle Scars highlight his ability to blend soulful samples with gritty drum patterns and vivid street narratives.

Musically, Fuego Base balances classic boom bap energy with contemporary influence, focusing on themes of survival, loyalty, ambition and perseverance. His work consistently reflects the realities of his environment while maintaining strong lyrical discipline and presence.

Within the context of Mixtape Addict, Fuego Base represents a modern wave of East Coast artists who respect traditional hip hop foundations while pushing their sound forward, reinforcing the show’s focus on authenticity, lyricism and underground credibility.

The hour opens with Fuego Base establishing authority through Doctorate, Wish Em Well and I’m Still A Rapper, anchoring the session in disciplined New York Boom Bap and reflective lyricism. 4 Deadly NY Sins heightens the street tension with ensemble grit, before Bottom Feeders keeps the pressure minimal and confrontational.

The collective energy of Get Ya Boy then injects battle-ready momentum, while The Anchors Of Time Remix introduces a more contemplative, cinematic tone. Divide & Conquer sharpens the Hardcore edge, followed by the icy precision of Offerings. Getting To It maintains the workmanlike pocket, while The Lord Gon Bless Us balances spirituality with street awareness.

Dosseh’s Iconic Freestyle brings a transatlantic bite that segues smoothly into the dark, politically charged weight of Addis Abba. The middle stretch deepens the underground mood with Truest Confession, before Deeper and Don’t Be Afraid shift the focus toward introspection and resilience.

Fraude reconnects the mix to French Boom Bap intensity, while Rain Man showcases technical lyricism over stripped-back drums. The closing run leans hard into tension as The Pit & The Pendulum underscores classic DJ craft through surgical cuts.

Serving Fiends sustains a grim street narrative, and Hail Mary finishes the musical arc with relentless cypher energy. The hour concludes with DJ King Flow’s in-depth conversation with Fuego Base, framing Episode 85 as a cohesive statement of raw Boom Bap, underground integrity and cross-Atlantic hip hop culture.

The live broadcast will air on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, from 8 to 10 PM Indochina Time (ICT), with a replay on Saturday from 8 to 10 AM (ICT).
