Velvety Elements returns with a new edition hosted by DJ Joshua on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Based in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has been immersed in electronic music culture since the 1990s. His long-standing relationship with vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats reflects decades of commitment to underground sound and DJ culture.

Although his musical journey has spanned techno, drum and bass and chillout, house music has remained central to his artistic identity. His sets focus on groove, soul and emotional depth, maintaining a consistent connection to both classic and contemporary house influences.

During quieter periods for Portugal’s underground movement, he remained active by organising events and collaborating with fellow artists. These efforts helped sustain a resilient local scene while strengthening his role within the community.

After stepping away from music to focus on family life, he returned with renewed direction through his radio show, Floating Beats. The series developed into a recognised platform for melodic and forward-thinking electronic music.

Velvety Elements followed as a complementary project focused on deeper and more soulful interpretations of house. The show explores warm textures and flowing structures, reflecting a more introspective and refined side of his musical approach.

Working under aliases including K Joshua, Joshua Marian, Joshua Fernand and Joshua Onairam, he continues to explore multiple creative directions. Each project highlights a different aspect of his sound, from minimal grooves to melodic and cinematic compositions.

In 2024, he launched JFLM Recordings as a platform for his own productions while supporting underground artists. The label has since developed into an outlet for both solo work and collaborations, reinforcing his ongoing commitment to the scene.

Under the Joshua Marian alias, releases such as the Nobody Waiting For Me EP on Back to the Beat expanded his focus on groove-led house. Tracks like Just Love and Chance With Soul further explored this direction with refined melodic detail and structured progression.

In 2025, his K Joshua single Light of Faith introduced a more introspective tone within his catalogue. The release combines deep house rhythms with melodic phrasing that balances reflection with forward movement.

Through Velvety Elements, Joshua continues to develop a clear and evolving musical identity. Each episode unfolds as a carefully structured journey, reflecting the enduring character, depth and emotional resonance of house music.

Velvety Elements 308 by DJ Joshua opens with a warm Deep House foundation as Freestyle Man and Nick Beringer set the tone through Sunrise For Meguro and Easy Easy. Chez Damier and Ron Trent deepen the groove with Untitled 3, before DJ Sneak introduces a sharper Jackin House edge with Seven Spice Rubz.

The flow continues with Tuccillo maintaining a rolling Deep House rhythm through Street Jungle, while Demuir, Nathan Barato and Room 303 shift into a more direct House structure with Stimulate. Nick Curly keeps the momentum steady with Luv U, balancing groove and energy.

The mid-section moves into deeper territory as Mattias El Mansouri brings a Minimal / Deep Tech texture with Struktur, before Angel Moraes and Sally Cortes return to a vocal House direction with Burnin’ Up, adding a classic club feel.

The closing stretch sees Politics Of Dancing and Franck Roger reinforce the Deep House core through Style and Mister Henderson. Joshua Marian rounds off the set with Yeah Babe, delivering a smooth and consistent finish rooted in groove, depth and classic underground House Music influences.

Tune in to his live radio broadcast on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, between 6 and 8 p.m. Indochina Time (ICT). If you can't listen then, the replay will be available on Friday from 6 to 8 a.m. (ICT).
