DJ Joshua has released the playlists for his weekly 'Floating Beats' and 'Velvety Elements' shows. Scientific Sound Asia is the Asian electronic music station and DJ Agency for the region with a global following.

DJ Joshua hails from Evora in Portugal and possesses a reputation as an electronic music collector. His main hobby is gathering a multitude of electronic music genres across many formats such as digital, vinyl, compact disc, and tape.

In his formative years as a teenager, he collected Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Chillout. He spent many hours at home honing his art as a disc jockey and categorising his massive collection.

At the beginning of the nineties, there was an active resistance to rave music and it was missing on Portuguese airwaves. After a lot of patience and perseverance, he managed to negotiate some residencies on local stations and began spreading his love of rave music to the masses.

He began doing events at clubs and bars with his close allies and gaining a good reputation in his home city and beyond. When he entered fatherhood he took a break from doing events and performing on the radio.

As his daughter matured he felt a need to get back to his roots and started the Floating Beats podcast and radio series. Over the years that have followed he has gained a good following and continues his original vision on several notable online outlets.

His love affair did not stop there and after a while, he decided to add another show to celebrate the more deep and soulful side of House and his new show Velvety Elements was born. Both of his podcasts are broadcasted internationally including on our station over the last two years.

In his own opinion 'Music is an art form. It is the fusion of elements that can convey emotions and make the body move. This is a place where you hear sounds that can float and end up falling onto your body, enjoy it.'

Every week, Joshua delves into a mixture of House Music and Techno sub-genres including Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit Techno, Soulful House, Progressive House, Techno, Vocal House, and Melodic Techno.

Listen to the shows live on Monday 28th of November 2022 from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT) and re-airing on Friday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
