Terence C, a respected guest DJ and seasoned selector, joins Bicycle Corporation for episode 137 of Electronic Roots, broadcast on Scientific Sound Asia. As a leading platform for electronic music in Asia and beyond, Scientific Sound Asia continues to highlight underground talent through its radio shows, live events, and DJ agency.
Bicycle Corporation is the collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. With more than fifty tracks and remixes released, their catalogue spans house and techno, combining rhythmic drive with melodic sophistication.
Marco began his musical journey in the early 1990s, inspired by Afro-influenced grooves and Italy’s growing underground club scene. His early work with the Urban People collective helped shape the foundations of the country’s house movement and later led to a residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh, establishing his international reputation.
Stefano, raised in Turin, built his musical background through studies in classical piano, percussion, and drumming. Influenced by both Chopin and West African rhythms, he developed a deep appreciation for structure and groove, which later guided his transition into electronic production. This balance of formal training and creative experimentation became the basis for Bicycle Corporation’s distinctive sound.
Together, Marco and Stefano continue to honour their underground roots while pushing boundaries through each release and performance. Their Electronic Roots series explores the spectrum of house and techno through collaborations with guest DJs from across Asia, fostering cultural connection and musical dialogue.
Episode 137 featuring Terence C continues this journey, delivering an elegant and groove-rich session that reflects both Bicycle Corporation’s artistry and the vibrant evolution of Asia’s electronic music scene.

Guest DJ Terence C.
Terence C, a renowned Malaysian DJ and producer now based in Shanghai, headlines this week’s edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. With over two decades of experience, he stands among Asia’s most respected selectors, recognised for his technical skill, deep musical knowledge, and unwavering commitment to quality performances.
A key figure in Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music scene, Terence helped shape the city’s house and techno identity through his long-standing residencies at some of its most iconic venues. His instinctive ability to read the dancefloor and deliver with precision made him a central figure in Malaysia’s nightlife, earning widespread respect from both peers and audiences.
Throughout his career, Terence has shared stages with global heavyweights such as David Morales, Fatboy Slim, and Pete Tong. He also became known for his frequent collaborations with John Digweed, performing as his Malaysian tour opener at the legendary Zouk Club in Kuala Lumpur.
These appearances not only strengthened his reputation but also contributed to the development of a dedicated underground following in Southeast Asia. Before the pandemic, Terence co-founded We Love Techno alongside DJ XU, a monthly event series inspired by driving sounds from labels like Drumcode and Cocoon. The night became one of Kuala Lumpur’s most celebrated underground gatherings, injecting new energy into the city’s club culture and showcasing his commitment to pushing techno’s boundaries.
Terence’s journey began in 1998 under the mentorship of DJ Chris Doss, with early performances at Cubeat and Globar. His breakthrough came when he supported David Morales’ first Malaysian performance, which led to regular appearances at Movement Club, Backroom, Nouvo, and Atmosphere.
His profile expanded regionally with performances at Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2005, he co-founded Altered Image with Callen Tham and Digital, a multimedia live act merging visuals, turntablism, and electronic sounds. The project went on to win the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition and toured extensively across Southeast Asia.
In recent years, Terence has embraced hybrid DJ setups integrating traditional decks with Ableton Live, expanding his creative flexibility for dynamic and immersive sets. His ongoing Movement Control mix series continues to attract attention, with recent episodes such as Movement Control 275 highlighting his refined ear and evolving sound.
Currently focusing on new studio material, Terence remains an influential voice in Asia’s underground electronic music movement. His feature on Electronic Roots for Scientific Sound Asia captures his forward-thinking approach and deep understanding of house and techno, reaffirming his position as one of the region’s most accomplished and visionary DJs.
Electronic Roots 137 opens with atmospheric energy, guided by Michael Mayer’s The Solution and Brian Kage’s Oberdub. The early Deep House selection builds gradually, with Move Around The Dial by Dachshund & Paul EG creating a subtle transition into layered Progressive House grooves from Gab Oliver and Chris Fortier.
Terence C continues his elegant flow with Mathias Kaden’s Voices (Retrouve Remix) and Manuel-M’s A Night in Charleroi, blending intricate rhythm with reflective melodies. Butch’s Just Fly introduces Indie Dance flair before Damian Lazarus & Jojo Abot’s Warrior Dance (Timo Maas Remix) and Two Faces by Stelios Vassiloudis & Steven Weston pull the mix deeper into club territory.
The energy builds through Unspent’s Sea Theatre and Jamie Stevens & Meeting Molly’s Illusionist, with rich textures and immersive sound design. Eyes Up by Nick Muir and We Don’t Know What’s Real by Funk D’Void & Pig&Dan push toward more driving tones, bridging Progressive and Techno intensity.
Closing with Hardt Antoine’s Let Me Go, Loloman’s Rock Hit, and Guy J’s Worlds Apart, Terence C delivers an emotive finale, where warm basslines meet melodic sophistication. The set ends on Something (Deetron Extended Remix) by Girls of the Internet, a soulful touch that completes an episode rooted in progression, mood, and precision.
