Guest DJ DARØ presents his first Bicycle Corporation Foundations show, episode 9, on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter that also operates as a music-news platform for audiences across the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo comprising DJ and producer Marco MEI and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The pair formed Bicycle Corporation after Marco’s early work as a DJ and producer and Stefano’s developing interest in electronic music.
In the early 1990s, Marco began his musical career as a DJ and producer, organising events throughout Italy with the Urban People crew. That work brought recognition, a residency at Pacha and international DJ bookings that took him around the world.
Born and raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano displayed musical ability from childhood and studied classical piano, percussion and drums with commitment. He enjoyed Chopin and West African djembe, while the sight of DJs working a crowd became increasingly compelling during his teenage years.
The electronic beats that were difficult to find on Italian radio in the 1990s opened a new chapter in Stefano’s life and helped lead to Bicycle Corporation. The duo have revisited their earliest tracks and established a Bandcamp page to distribute them.

Bicycle Corporation’s Foundations 9 with guest DJ DARØ opens with David Penn and KPD’s Disc-Jockey on Urbana Recordings, setting a House Music foundation. Green Velvet and Shiba San’s Chance on Relief then introduces Tech House, while David Keno’s Rip & Pop on Simma Black keeps the opening rooted in house.
DJ Fronter’s Tic Tac on Hottrax tightens the club-focused rhythm before deadmau5 and The Neptunes’ Jay Robinson remix of Pomegranate on mau5trap brings Bass House weight. ANOTR’s Cultural Decline on No Art and Siege and Maia Mayor’s Perfect feat. Maia Mayor on Toolroom Trax return the programme to a direct tech-house focus.
Chiapet’s Skylark edit of Westworld on Yoshitoshi Recordings introduces Deep House colour, followed by Hot Since 82’s Veins on Truesoul. Morinoco’s Calippo on Nervous Records and Technasia’s Bring It Back on Toolroom balance house warmth with a firmer tech-house pace.
Duke Dumont and Kid Enigma’s Let Me Dance on EMI leads into Lee Cabrera and Thomas Gold’s Nic Fanciulli edit of Shake It on Cr2 Records. Tomaz and Filterheadz’s D.Ramirez remix of Sunshine on 1605 gives way to Paolo Martini’s Stop and Go on Paul’s Boutique and Olivier Giacomotto and Thomas Gandey’s What About Acid on Toolroom Trax.
George Privatti’s La Ventafox on Kittball, Faraj’s Psychedelic Experience on House Heroes Music and NEVERGLOW’s Lapacho on Skink sustain the central tech-house section. AC Slater and Acid Mouth’s Phlegmatic Dogs remix of Jaws on Night Bass Records adds another bass-house turn before Green Velvet and Riva Starr’s Keep Pushin’ (Harder) on Snatch! Records restores the groove.
SIDEPIECE’s Acrobatic on Insomniac Records and Green Velvet’s Hot Since 82 remix of Bigger Than Prince on Circus Recordings carry the programme towards its closing stretch. Juliet Fox’s 6AM on Toolroom Trax, Ninetoes’ Shaf Huse remix of Deli Kadir on AVOTRE and PAGANO’s Naxos on Toolroom Trax prepare the final run.
Ben Remember and Tuff London’s Gotta Give Me and Save My Soul, both on Toolroom Trax, lead into KAISER PENGUIN’s BOHO on N.E.O.N, bringing Melodic House and Techno into the final section. Lil Louis’s French Kiss on React closes the show with a defining house record.
Guest DJ DARØ.
