Scientific Sound Asia Presents Roots 4

This event took place at Haku Taipei, No. 1號, Yumen Street, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10491, from 10 PM on 15 April 2022 until 2 AM on 16 April 2022.

After an unforgettable radio series on Scientific Sound Asia Radio and a successful third event, Bicycle Corporation and Scientific Sound Asia presented the fourth edition of Roots. The night focused on Afrobeat, Nu Disco, Disco and Disco Re-Edits, bringing the sound of the series back to Haku Taipei.

The event featured Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei alongside Taiwanese DJ and record label owner Murphy Kin. Together, they brought warm rhythms, classic dance music influences and groove-led selections to a Taipei dance floor.

Marco Mei is an Italian DJ and producer based in Taipei, with more than three decades of international experience behind the decks. Also known through his work with Bicycle Corporation, his sound moves across House, Deep House, Disco House, Nu Disco, Tech House and related underground styles.

Murphy Kin is a Taipei-based DJ, music curator and record label figure with a long history across House, Disco and club culture in the region. Originally from Shanghai and later based in Taipei, he has been active across the regional bar and club scene for many years, including work connected with disco-focused events and music curation.

Roots 4 continued the series with a focus on Afrobeat, Nu Disco, Disco and Disco Re-Edits. Guests were invited to dress cool, dress sassy, dance and feel free.
