Hip Hop Don’t Stop

This event took place at The Lab - Shots & More, 101 Phạm Ngũ Lão, Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Ho Chi Minh City, from 9 PM on 23 November 2019 until 2 AM on 24 November 2019. The venue has since closed, but the original location has been kept for archive accuracy.

Scientific Sound Asia and The Lab - Shots & More presented Hip Hop Don’t Stop, a free-entry Hip Hop night in District 1. After a long break following the Too Many T’s event in March, the night brought Hip Hop back with Old Skool gems, New Skool flavours and rooftop party energy.

The event took place across The Lab’s rooftop terrace and first-floor bar, giving guests space to dance, drink or chill while the DJs supplied the beats. Drinks offers on the night included buy-one-get-one-free Tiger Beer from 9 PM until 11 PM.

DJs on the night:

DiJay Arsan

ARSAN is an American record producer, songwriter, DJ and independent recording artist born in New York. Raised between New York and California, she developed a broad musical background and a distinctive sound shaped by different scenes and styles.

Her live DJ sets mixed Hip Hop, House and Trap, bringing energetic selections and sharp transitions to the dance floor. At the time of this event, she was also the resident DJ for the Saigon Heat basketball team and performed at venues around Vietnam.

DJ Psycho-UK

DJ Psycho-UK, also known as Bearhead, started DJing at the age of 14 in East London with a pair of Soundlab DLP1 turntables and a four-track mixer. His background connects Hip Hop, House, Acid House, Hardcore, Jungle, Drum and Bass and the wider UK underground scene.

He played on London pirate radio stations including Axe FM and Fantasy FM, and was active around underground parties, warehouse events and rave culture in the UK. His career later included performances in the UK, the West Indies, Australia and Vietnam.

In London, DJ Psycho-UK played venues including Scala, Bagley’s Film Studios, 491 Gallery, 291 Gallery and 333. In Vietnam, his appearances included Piu Piu, Basement, Indika, Cargo Remote, Pogo Beach Club, Dragon Beach and other venues.

DJ Psycho-UK is also the head of Scientific Sound Asia, helping develop the platform as a radio station, event organiser and underground music network in Vietnam.
