El Brujo and The Wild Bunch episode 21 features Chris Van Deer

El Brujo presents El Brujo and The Wild Bunch episode 21 with guest DJ Chris van Deer on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting regional and international audiences.

Robert Milanesi, known by his stage name El Brujo, was born in Italy in 1964 and developed a strong interest in music from an early age. By 1994, he had become involved in the emergence of Bologna's underground rave culture in Italy and gained widespread recognition.

His first official release, Warriors, arrived in 2008 through the Milan label Open Legs. In 2010, El Brujo launched his own label, Jambalay Records, at an opening party at Club Geminis in Ibiza harbour, Spain.

The label and El Brujo gained global recognition through their collaboration ‘Mozambique’ with Big Mojo. The track appeared in Maya Jane Coles' February Chart 2011, followed by their first physical CD, Nutty Fellas Are Go.

In January 2019, El Brujo's Plastic Dreams, originally released on Frame Works, reached number 33 in the Beatport Hard Techno Top 100. His releases also appear on Elektrax, Frame Workxx, LW Recordings, Subwoofer, Berlin After Dark, Music Is The Drug, Gobekli Tepe, Fortwin Rec, Bunker, Mad Rhythm, SE7ENS and Physical Techno.

El Brujo's music is raw and uninhibited, moving across established genre boundaries. His monthly programme introduces guest DJs from his Wild Bunch of Techno producers and artists.

The show also gives El Brujo space to share promos and tracks by colleagues and companions. Episode 21 places Chris van Deer alongside a substantial selection of productions and remixes connected with El Brujo.

El Brujo opens the first hour of Episode 21 with three successive Sparknoize productions before Henry Mwnn Lobbs takes over for another three-track sequence. The concentration of Trench material gives the opening section a strong Techno identity before El Brujo introduces three of his own productions.

“Kill Me Faster,” “Jackhammer” and “Al Gibrah” move the first hour deeper into the harder side of the programme, with releases connected to Lets Techno and Dead Groovy Music. DJQ closes El Brujo’s hour with “Thunder” and “Tone Deaf,” completing a tightly focused selection built around forceful underground techno.

DJ Chris van Deer begins the second hour with his own “Zeitflug” in an El Brujo remix, taken from Trench’s The Industrial Connection Vol. 2. The same release documents “Zeitflug” alongside material from Makaja Gonzales and DJ D ReDD, establishing the collaborative Trench framework that dominates the remainder of the programme.

El Brujo’s “Total Deception” and “Sandman” precede a long run of his remixes for Keah, Makaja Gonzales, Chris van Deer and DJ D ReDD. Makaja Gonzales’ “Red Dragon” and Nizzy’s “Arcism” both formed part of The Industrial Connection Vol. 3, a Trench release built around El Brujo, DJ D ReDD, Makaja Gonzales and Nizzy.

The later section returns repeatedly to El Brujo’s own catalogue through “Ralfa,” “Search And Destroy,” “The Idiocracy” and “Industrial Damage.” MOT3K and Nizzy then lead into Ronnie Vineyard’s “Panic Attack,” whose El Brujo remix is officially classified as Hard Dance / Hardcore / Neo Rave, giving the set a clear Hard Techno and harder-rave connection without requiring the entire hour to be forced into that classification.

Ugo Anzoino’s “Yakuza” in another El Brujo remix closes a second hour devoted almost completely to El Brujo productions and reinterpretations. Across both sets, techno remains the broad foundation, while harder techno and industrial-leaning material become increasingly prominent as Chris van Deer moves through the Trench catalogue.
