DJ Marco Mei presents his new show for November 7th, 2020, on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform, connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
With almost thirty years of experience, Marco is an Italian DJ and producer. In his early years, he developed a strong interest in Afrobeat, Reggae, Funk, Disco, early Hip Hop and changing electronic music genres.
During the early 1990s, he began his career as a DJ, performing at venues throughout Italy. Marco developed his skills through festivals and clubs around the world, appearing alongside DJs including Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon and Sander Kleinenberg.
In the early 2000s, he secured a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh. He later toured internationally, performing at OBS in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, CE' LA VI in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, Woobar in Bali and Global Dance Moscow, among other venues.
In 2009, Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, partnered with Marco to form the production duo Bicycle Corporation. Their studio collaboration has resulted in more than 50 tracks and remixes.
These tracks received recognition from established artists in the House Music community. Marco relocated to Taipei, Taiwan, in the early 2010s, where he regularly performed at clubs and venues across the city.
Marco is based in Taipei and works across a wider South East Asian network through his weekly radio show. He is available for bookings through the Scientific Sound Asia DJ Agency.
Portable opens the November 7th, 2020 edition with the Gerd Janson Ramona remix of Unity on Live At Robert Johnson, introducing an Indie Dance tone. Massimiliano Pagliara follows with A Wrong Chance in the Tuff City Kids Acid Bonus Riddim, before Pledits1 brings the Paranoid London edit of Frankie Feels The Fire.
Maydie Myles’ Dennis Quin extended remix of Keep On Luvin on ZYX Music moves into House Music, with Honey Dijon featuring Hadiya George on the Kda Legacy extended remix of Not About You. La Femme and Josh Caffe’s Kink Kei extended remix of Fantastique leads to Bustin Loose’s Keep On Dancin on theBasement Discos, followed by Sam Holland’s Unity and Desires on Knee Deep In Sound.
Demuir’s Legend on Sola Nauts brings Funky House into the middle of the selection. Jamie 326’s edit of Lil Sista on G.A.M.M. adds Disco, before Gerd Janson and Jacques Renault supply One More Slam and Movin Kinda Screwy.
Lady Blackbird’s Bruise Piano Refix Dub of Collage on Foundation Music introduces a Drum and Bass entry. Look Mexico then appears with the Maslow Unknown Re-rub of Come Into My House, while AFFKT’s Musumeci remix of Torpedo on Mobilee Records returns the programme to Indie Dance.
Two Tribes follows with the Paurro remix of Head, before Frankie Knuckles featuring Jamie Principle appears in Alan Dixon’s 2020 extended remix of Your Love. T. Markakis’ That Jazz Feeling precedes Moore Classic Wall’s Everything on Bottom Line Records, bringing Deep House into the late section.
Miane’s Tell The Truth on Sola returns the set to House Music for its final run. Yello closes the programme with the Rwn edit of Goldrush, ending the selection with an electronic contrast to the preceding club material.
