Anonymous Z presents the 16th edition of Not So Anonymous on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Anonymous Z is mostly famous in Saigon, Vietnam, for founding Mad Circus epic parties. He also founded Glassroom, Bahrain's first underground DJ community, becoming its organiser.
Leading a group of misfits from varied backgrounds, he organised parties and after-parties, legal or not, that local nightlife remembers as legendary. His motto then was "They tried to bury us, but they forgot we were seeds".
After joining the Banana Hustle crew in its punchy tropical frenzy, he helped develop its distinctive vibe. Originally a Techno head, he developed a taste for digging out individual Afro, House, Disco and Funk records.
He complements this approach with hand-picked Techno and recent Indie Dance selections. His strong abilities as a selecta opened doors to underground venues including Arcan, The Lighthouse, Broma and Vitamin D after-parties.
His non-linear sets are often improvised and led by the dance floor. They range across styles through tense, groovy bass lines and melodic storytelling that plays with emotion.
For the 16th edition of Not So Anonymous, Anonymous Z showed his French side. The programme explored trippy, Downtempo, Dark Disco and Electro selections before moving towards the darker edge of his own groove.
Anonymous Z's Not So Anonymous show 16 begins with Gilb'r's The Triangle on Dekmantel, introducing House Music with a measured opening. Puma & The Dolphin's Michal Turtle remix of The Dress, released through Chambre Noire Records, brings a leftfield turn to the early sequence.
Wolframe's Lsd on Nein Records establishes the first stretch of Indie Dance. MR TC and Lo Kindre then take over with The Waving Bridge on Neubau, adding the firmer pressure of Peak Time Techno.
KMLN's Schon Long remix of Sabilu feat. Mian on Sol Selectas brings in Melodic House and Techno. Uj Pa Gaz follows with On Rugs for Tici Taci, returning the set to its Indie Dance focus.
Bufi's Hanzo and Yaman remix of Baile Muerto, from Belly Dance Services, introduces Nu-Disco into the centre of the show. Tecwaa's Bird of Paradise remix of Uwisara on Sulk Magic changes the rhythmic shape with Breaks.
Benjamin Fröhlich's Cornelius Doctor remix of Secret Alphabet on Permanent Vacation restores the Indie Dance thread. Damon Jee's Empire of the Sun, released by Days Of Being Wild, brings Peak Time Techno back before Back From The Wave's Les Nuits on Nein Records lowers the temperature into Indie Dance again.
Chinosynth's Defender on Maleante Records supplies the concise function of DJ Tools / Acapellas. Damon Jee and Snem K.'s Do Carry On on Rotten City Files and Alex Aguayo's Music Matters on N I G H T N O I S E keep the closing stretch rooted in Indie Dance.
