Uncharted Frequency, the DJ duo formed by Shayekh Mohammad Arif, also known as Dr.Moonstruck, and Hersiaz Hazi, introduced its first Scientific Sound Asia show in May 2020. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Uncharted Frequency is a bi-weekly sound show created collaboratively by Dhaka, Bangladesh-based Shayekh Mohammad Arif, also known as Dr.Moonstruck, and Colombo, Sri Lanka-based Hersiaz Hazi. The programme provides a meeting point for experimental and underground sounds from around the world.
The inaugural edition was hosted by Hersiaz Hazi, whose real name is Hasi Shamalka Silva, a Sri Lankan-born artist from the capital city of Colombo. His interest in electronic music began during his teenage years, when he started exploring its different genres.
Hersiaz began experimenting with Virtual DJ and FL Studio, starting his career in his bedroom as many DJs do. As his interest in electronic music developed, he moved towards Progressive House and established a name within Colombo's underground community.
He runs his own episode and also plays a monthly broadcast on the Progressive Heaven radio show in the United Kingdom. Scientific Sound Asia welcomed his monthly broadcast work to the station and invited audiences to enjoy the show.
Uncharted Frequency episode 1 with Hersiaz Hazi opens with Namathria's Animulus before Erdi Irmak's Dawn. Christian Monique's Asylum, released through Incepto Bundles, establishes the set's Progressive House direction.
Srinivas's Lvanshee remix of Traverse follows on Welcome Music, with Santo Adriano's East Cafe remix of Finding Peace in the Eye of the Storm arriving via Balkan Connection. Jakhira's Kitzen then brings a Melodic House and Techno accent through Magician On Duty.
Sapienta's After a Long Time gives way to Julian Rodriguez's Chasing Reality, before Kabri Ar's Fabri Lopez remix of Aequilirium appears on Sound Teller Records. After Burn and Aman Anand's Hot Tuneik remix of Move Me, issued on One Of Kind, keeps the programme focused on the late-set club sound.
Rona's We Are receives the Kamilo Sanclemente and Mauro Aguirre remix treatment on Manual Music. Kamilo Sanclemente then follows with Eternal on Songspire, while Celene's Singing Garden appears through Eat My Hat Music.
Pedro Capelossi and Noiyse Project's Juan Pablo Torrez remix of Phoenix Symphony leads into Juan Erbin's Evergan Vs Ivan Alilaga remix of Kids & Kites, both on Droid 9. Waxman's Julian Nates remix of Contact on 3rd Avenue pushes the selection towards its closing stretch.
Dmitry Molosh's Dagger on Specific Music is followed by Michal A Remix's Lost Soul. Jan Dalvik's Parallel Universe remix of Mahat on Clubsonica Records leads to Nicho Cerban's Santiago Forteza remix of Again We Rise on Specific Music, giving the final passage a measured finish.
