pulsɘs presents his Dark Techno show on Scientific Sound Asia, originally published for 17 June 2020. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
pulsɘs, real name Amedeo Marini, is an emerging artist born and raised in Rome, Italy, who was based in the underground scene of Groningen, Holland at the time of publication. The Italian DJ and producer's dark, high-energy, uncompromising techno style has led him to play closing sets.
At the time, he was seeking his first international gigs after the pandemic, having played for a few underground organizers and planned larger events in his home city. His sets blend rave, hard techno, EBM, dark techno, elektro and industrial techno.
At the time of publication, he had provided several guest mixes for established channels and anticipated releases on techno labels. His recent podcasts and tracks here offer a record of that work.
The programme opens with Black Lotus's Eclipse on FLASH Recordings, Jerm's Breaking Point on Analogue and Roll Dann's The Fist on Soma Records, establishing a Peak Time Techno line. Black Lotus returns with Totality on FLASH Recordings before the set moves into a denser passage.
Vegim's Rule & Order and Roll Dann's Ridding Horses In The Darkness, both on Clergy, introduce Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic). Lawrence Kurt and Monovsn's Chainsaw Massacre and Monovsn's Adrastea on OECUS sit alongside Reizemann's Skirmish on Clergy.
Roll Dann's Lexeme on Soma Records, Kastil's Nostalgia on Stale and Takaaki Itoh's Wisher on Mord restore the peak-time pressure. Illnurse's Terror Disco on INTERVISION then brings in Electronica before the harder material returns.
Rebekah's Trash Talk on Clergy leads into NO.NAME's Cyberpunk on Insane Industry, the programme's Industrial turn. Tocsin's Inferno on Ways to Die Records follows with a tense, stripped-back intensity.
Priscus's Storm in Joefarr's remix on Boykot and joeFarr's Well Tempered on Elements Records sharpen the pace once more. Endlec's Use For Punishment on HEX Recordings, Kander's Insight on Clergy and Lars Huismann's Aftermath on PLS.UK hold the set between sparse textures and forceful rhythm.
The final stretch takes in Mickey Nox's Six Feet Chain on Green Fetish Records, Rown's Balrog remix of Stranger on Taro Records, joeFarr's Septum on Elements Records and Viper Diva's Born To Be Slytherin and En Y on Saike. DJ Ogi's Djef, D.Dan's Mutant Future, Works Unit's Untitled, NO.NAME's Emergency Lane, Stef Mendesidis's The Secret Agent's Blunder and Kwartz's Endlec remix of Distorted Reality, Pt. 1 close the selection with sustained intensity.
