Singapore DJ and filmmaker moth1 presents his first guest edition, Futurevibe 1, on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Guest DJ moth1, whose real name is Sivaraj Pragasm, is a DJ and filmmaker from Singapore. He describes himself as someone who combines sounds to create new sounds.
As a cinematographer by profession, his sets combine visual elements with layered musical selections. Watching and listening to him perform has been compared to seeing a Blade Runner-like film come to life.
Moth1 emerged from a curiosity about the evolution of music and its intersection with philosophy. Before the project took shape, its creator was focused on the relationship between music and human cognition.
That enquiry considered musical preferences, including why certain sounds attract people while others repel them. Moth1 was therefore conceived not simply as a vision of music's future, but as an examination of the questions behind musical experience.
By considering responses to melody, rhythm and harmony, Moth1 seeks to move beyond conventional boundaries of musical expression. The project brings philosophical enquiry together with artistic experimentation and invites listeners to consider their own responses to sound.
The Futurevibe concept combines music and storytelling, whether through words or without them. Its central concern is the emotional response it creates for the listener.
For this edition, moth1 assembled music intended to evoke the anxiety of its era. The selection moves through melodic house, techno and progressive house, with artists including Waveform Transmission, Shiffer and Stan Kolev.
Moth1's Futurevibe 1 first guest show opens with Waveform Transmission's V 3.2-3.4 on Astral Industries, introducing an Ambient atmosphere. Shiffer's The Final Bliss on Sum Over Histories then brings in Melodic House and Techno textures.
Neta's Mellow Dreams on Soundteller Records and Stan Kolev's Earthlings on Outta Limits establish the programme's Progressive House direction. Simos Tagias's GMJ & Matter remix of The Rise, released through Mango Alley, sustains that measured rise in intensity.
GRAZZE's Olivier Giacomotto remix of Virah on Yoshitoshi Recordings leads into Hollt's Halos on Radikon. Brigitte Belling's Theia on Katz&Kauz, EarthLife's Italia on Oddity Records and Faraday's Temporale on Wood extend the melodic centre of the set.
Dizharmonia's Morttagua remix of Lotus on Timeless Moment precedes Reinier Zonneveld and Cari Golden's Things We Might Have Said on Stil Vor Talent. Agents Of Time's Astra on Afterlife Records then turns the selection towards Techno, before Wata Igarashi's Eruption and Feral's Devious Path on Hypnus Records add Peak Time Techno pressure.
Takaaki Itoh's Svarog remix of Rig 3 on Kin-Ben LABEL leads into the raw, deep and hypnotic Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) of Ness's Deepbass remix of Bionic Harp on Lykos Records. Akob's Depths of Tharsis on Planet Rhythm, Ntogn's Spott, Blod & Jord on TOME RECORDS and Dycide's Fluctuation on Lowless deepen the tension before Luigi Tozzi and Claudio PRC's Lyra I on 012 and Knay's Kneeless on Alexandar bring in Deep Techno detail.
Wata Igarashi returns with Decrypt before Binaryh's Capella on Black Rose Recordings restores the melodic focus. Rasmus Faber featuring Öhrn's Dario D'Attis remix of Two Left Feet on Defected introduces House Music, while Morttagua's Yahyel on Timeless Moment, Nick Devon's Everything Possible on Steyoyoke and Sono's ARTBAT remix of Keep Control on Kontor Records bring the programme to a melodic close.
