Marco Mei releases his tracklist for 25 Years in Da House 2

Marco Mei presented 25 Years in Da House Part 2, episode 149 of his retrospective series, for Scientific Sound Asia in 2018. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news outlet, connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

The programme revisited musical reference points that had informed Marco’s work as a DJ and producer from the early 1990s onwards. Its title marked the 25-year perspective behind this archival selection, rather than a new release or a current broadcast.

Marco began DJing in Turin in 1991, during a formative period for Italian underground House and Techno culture. He was associated with the city’s Urban People collective, placing him within Turin’s developing electronic music community.

That early involvement gave Marco experience in DJing, event organisation and club promotion. It also placed him close to the independent structures that supported House Music and Techno in Italy during the 1990s.

An extended residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh formed an important chapter in his international work. His appearances also included Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City.

Those venues brought his selections to club settings across Europe and Asia, each with its own local context and audience. They also showed the geographic scope of a career rooted in House and Techno culture rather than a single regional circuit.

In 2009, Marco formed Bicycle Corporation with Italian producer Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. The collaboration gave Marco’s DJ work a production counterpart while drawing on Stefano’s musical training and studio background.

Bicycle Corporation has released more than fifty productions and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno. Their catalogue has appeared through labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx.

Part 2 was structured as a retrospective rather than a set confined to one genre. It brought House foundations into contact with Progressive House, Deep House and Peak Time Techno references drawn from different periods of Marco’s career.

The episode placed established club records alongside material connected to later electronic production culture. In that format, 25 Years in Da House documented how Marco’s early influences, international bookings and studio work developed into a wider musical archive.

Marco Mei is based in Taipei and is part of the Scientific Sound Asia DJ agency, with long-standing links across club scenes in Asia and beyond. His weekly programme on the station connects his early club background with a wide range of house, techno and electronic music references.

DJ Marco Mei presents 25 Years in Da House Part 2 on Scientific Sound Asia, with an archive selection rooted in House Music, Acid House, Techno, Deep House and Disco. The tracklist features music from Serious Intention, Metro Area, Masters At Work, Royal House, Maurice, Black Riot, Chicken Lips, Joey Beltram, Danny Tenaglia, DJ Pierre, Chez Damier and Kevin Saunderson.

Serious Intention opens with You Don't Know, placing the episode inside early House Music before Metro Area’s Miura moves into disco-influenced club territory. Chris Cuevas then appears with Hip Hop in the Masters At Work remix, keeping the opening section close to New York house rhythm.

Old Skool, Royal House, The Break Boys and The Swing Kids build a classic house passage through Cauz I'm Learn, Can You Party, My House Is Your House and Good Feelin. Tyrrel Corporation then adds One Day, moving the set into Deep House before Maurice introduces Acid House with This Is Acid.

Nick Older’s Frantic returns the programme to House Music, followed by Âme with the deeper Rej. Chab then moves the mix into Progressive House with Closer To Me, before Black Riot shifts the tracklist towards Techno through Warlock.

Chicken Lips bring an Indie Dance entry with He Not In, followed by Rock & Kato’s Shake It. 20Hz, Da Hool and Joey Beltram then give the middle section a firmer Techno direction through Capricorn, Meet Her At The Love Parade and Flash.

Scot Project’s U (I Got A Feeling) introduces a Trance peak before Felix appears in Alan Fitzpatrick’s version of Don't You Want Me. Chez Damier then returns the tracklist to Deep House with Can You Feel It, one of the episode’s key late-section house references.

Danny Tenaglia and Celeda bring Music Is The Answer in the Fire Island remix, followed by DJ Pierre’s Let The Music Take You Higher. Phase II and Deep Zone then continue the House Music thread with Reachin' and It's Gonna Be Alright.

Kevin Saunderson and Inner City close the main sequence with Future in the Kenny Larkin Tension Mix, bringing Detroit Techno into the final stretch. Old School by Acapellas And Beats ends Part 2 with a breakbeat-linked closing tool.
