Marco Mei presents his 2020 show 01, podcast 103, on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
With more than twenty years of experience, Marco is an Italian DJ and producer whose formative years were shaped by Afrobeat and the emergence of electronic music. He began DJing during the 1990s and has developed his craft over more than twenty-five years.
His work has taken him to festivals and underground nightclubs internationally. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon and Sander Kleinenberg.
During the early years of the millennium, Marco held a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm El-Sheikh and began travelling internationally as a DJ and artist. His appearances included Arcan in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk.
These bookings also placed him alongside artists including Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D’Void. The international dates formed part of his work across a range of underground club settings.
Marco teamed up with Stefano Ugliano to form Bicycle Corporation, and the duo has produced more than 50 tracks and remixes played by international artists. Based in Taipei, Marco is part of the wider South East Asian electronic music network through his DJ work and productions.
His weekly programme moves through deep and tech-led house, Afro House, melodic techno, nu-disco, indie dance, electronica and techno. He is available for bookings through the Scientific Sound Asia DJ agency, while his weekly show is broadcast through its radio station.
This January 2020 edition brings together house, disco, techno and electro material from across the selection. Elton John and Grace Jones provide familiar vocal points, while Loco Dice supplies a more stripped-back club direction.

Ziggy Phunk’s Dont Stop in the James Rod remix and Alien Disco Sugar’s The Beat Goes On then establish a Nu-Disco section, with releases on Spa In Disco and Digital Wax.
D&G Housing Association’s Baltimore on Disco Sonitus moves the set back towards House Music before Mooqee and Beatvandals bring Player in its 2019 Disco Rework on Bombstrikes. Filta Freqz’s Master Blaster on DFTD and House Dat Shit’s My 2 Steps on Karmic Power Records keep the central passage focused on direct club rhythm.
Romy Black’s The Love Test on Souluxe Record Co introduces Indie Dance, before Sebb Junior and Eider’s Come Back in the Art of Tones remix returns to Nu-Disco on Sub_Urban. Elton John’s (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again in the Purple Disco Machine remix leads into Mark Lower and Alexandra Prince’s Feel, bringing a Disco-leaning lift to the sequence.
Peter Brown’s Troubles in the Richard Earnshaw revision prepares the way for Apres’ Chicago in the BC Edit, a Deep House cut released through SubSoul. Grace Jones’s Party Animal follows, retaining the vocal presence before the programme presses into its later club material.
Bruno Furlan’s Everybody on Whistle introduces Tech House, giving the late section a firmer rhythmic focus. Loco Dice’s Keep It Low, featuring Chris Liebing and released on Desolat, adds a minimal-led turn before the final records.
Dangerous Dan, Nicky Night Time and Rhonda INTL.’s A History, featuring Julian Mitchell, returns to House Music on Music To Dance To Records. Demon’s You Are My High on Help Yourself Records and Soulwax’s NY Lipps on Play It Again Sam close the show by moving from Indie Dance towards a rock-edged finish.
