DJ Gerard, also known as Tim Jones of DeviceRATT, presents episode 08 of The Hit List on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Originally from Angeles City in the United States, Gerard works across Deep House, Deep Tech House, Tech House and Techno. His productions and DJ sets are shaped by a long-standing interest in electronic music and the different forms of House music.
Gerard has spoken about his ambition to contribute to the development of House music through his own productions. His approach centres on exploring different ideas within the genre while creating music intended for club and radio audiences.
While based in China, Gerard worked with Scientific Sound Asia as a resident artist. His activity in the region connected him with listeners and electronic music communities across Southeast Asia.
He has also worked as Nu-Disco manager for Brasbeat, a digital platform focused on electronic music in Latin America. This role placed part of his work between Asian and Latin American scenes while broadening his involvement beyond DJing and production.
Gerard also hosts a monthly podcast and mix show built around music from his own collection. The format gives him room to introduce new discoveries alongside the House and Techno styles central to his work.
Gerard opens The Hit List Episode 08 with Dmitr and Shooxmann’s “Africa” before Art In Motion and Cubanism establish a warm, percussive house groove. Danito & Athina’s “Vogue” then pulls the selection deeper, giving the early part of the show a clear Deep House foundation.
Solidmind’s “Unterholz” keeps that deeper mood intact before JJ.MASON and Andre Salmon bring a firmer club rhythm into the middle of the programme. Solidmind’s work around this period regularly crossed between deep house and melodic material, which fits the gradual movement of Gerard’s opening run.
Luchi & Raizer, DJ Mosquito and Blair Malott continue through stripped-back house before Mark Jenkyns with Mizbee and The Oddictions add more vocal and groove-led material. Julian Velez and Maxi Galoppo then take the set further towards Tech House, increasing the rhythmic pressure without breaking from the house core.
Luky with Matteo Cabassi and Cole P carry the final section into more reduced club territory before Percival and Bruno Bernardes bring in a deeper, more minimal feel. Ilya Garbuz and Azania Brothers close the programme with another shift towards melodic and organic textures.
Across Episode 08, Gerard moves through deep house, tech house and Melodic House and Techno, with smaller deep-tech and organic elements appearing around those main styles. The progression is gradual, beginning with warmer and deeper material before tightening into more rhythm-focused club tracks later in the set.
