Gerard Jones presents The Hit List 57 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Gerard is a DJ from Florida, USA, whose work is informed by production, energy and a passion for electronic music. His performances focus on House music and have reached audiences in a range of settings.
Gerard began as part of DeviceRATT with F.L.I. Records, where his interest in electronic music developed into a lasting commitment to the genre. That period helped establish his approach to playing entrancing beats and sounds for dancefloors.
He performed across South Florida's underground scene, including appearances at Treehouse and Nocturnal. These shows brought positive responses and helped him build a growing following.
In 2014, Gerard released his debut with Aerotek Records and established a place within the electronic scene. Further releases with labels including Pure Pitch and LTHM added to that profile.
Gerard's work also took him beyond the United States, where he secured a series of residencies at venues across East Asia. By laying down beats for local audiences, he built on the experience gained in his native scene.
After building a following at venues, Gerard became a recognised figure on China's music scene. When the pandemic struck, he returned to America and was unable to continue his work in the Far East.
Since returning to the United States, Gerard has wielded his craft for audiences at home and abroad. His growing fan base and international reach underline the mark he has made within electronic music.
Gerard's The Hit List 57 episode opens with Chris Minus and Mr. V's The End before The Tribe Of Good's Weiss remix of Loving You Baby brings House Music from Toolroom into focus. Riva Starr's Velvet Zone follows with Tech House on Snatch! Records, while Carlos A and Jay Caesar's Ben Murphy remix of Just Keeping introduces Deep Tech House via Slightly Sizzled White.
Phil Weeks and Demuir's To Be A Star, released through Purveyor Underground, brings in Funky House. Erick Morillo and Jamie Jones' Medication then leads into Purple Disco Machine's Claptone Extended Mix of Body Funk on Club Sweat and Teyana Taylor's BPM Supreme House Remix of WTP for Getting Out Our Dreams, Inc./Def Jam Recordings.
Redlight and Sweetie Irie's Zum Zum keeps the pace moving before Jax Jones and Au/Ra's John Summit remix of I Miss U returns to House Music on Polydor Records. Ludacris and Nate Dogg's BORNZI remix of Area Codes is followed by Gorgon City's Trapdoor, extending the club-led selection.
Late Replies' Hold Up and Torren Foot, Tinie Tempah and L Devine's John Summit remix of More Life keep the set moving through its middle stretch. Deltech's Cookie Monster then precedes ALX's Traveler, changing the emphasis before the later melodic material.
Super Flu and CIOZ's Body Juice on Crosstown Rebels introduces Melodic House and Techno to the programme. Collective States' Moonjockey and Mind Against's Walking Away carry that later direction forward.
Siege's Forget, Jamie Jones and Nicole Moudaber's Bubble Ride, and Fabrication's Dustpig hold the final section in a club-focused mode. Booka Shade's remix of Chemical Release on Blaufield Music gives way to San Sol's Coming Home on Whole Story Lab, providing the set's closing melodic resolution.
