Gerard Jones presents The Hit List 54 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, promoter, music-news platform and DJ agency connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Gerard is a Florida, USA-based DJ whose work centres on electronic music and production. His sets have reached audiences in South Florida and East Asia.
He began as part of DeviceRATT with F.L.I. Records, where his interest in electronic music developed into a sustained focus. That early period led him towards DJing for underground audiences.
Gerard performed across South Florida’s underground circuit, including appearances at Treehouse and Nocturnal. Those shows helped him build a growing following in his home scene.
In 2014, Gerard released his debut with Aerotek Records. He later issued music through labels including Pure Pitch and LTHM.
His work also brought him a series of residencies at venues across East Asia. There he played sets for audiences beyond his native Florida.
After establishing a following in venues across the region, Gerard became part of China’s music scene. When the pandemic struck, he returned to America and could not continue that Far East path at the time.
Since returning to the United States, Gerard has worked on his craft and performed for audiences. The Hit List 54 originally aired on Tuesday 1 December 2020.
Gerard’s The Hit List 54 episode opens with Argy’s Love Dose in the Tim Engelhardt Remix on Poker Flat Recordings, a Minimal Techno starting point. Jonathan Kaspar’s Tia on Ouie and Rafael Da Cruz’s Conrad on ISOLATE establish the programme’s Melodic House and Techno direction.
Rafael Cerato and Jager’s Every You, featuring John M in the Wurtz and Iberian Muse Remix, follows before Fur Coat and Hunter/Game bring Alloy from Renaissance Music. Hollt’s extended Systems Down on Zerothree and Øostil and Heîk’s Apolo on ATLANT sustain the measured electronic pace.
EdOne’s Alican Remix of Madness Dose arrives via Selador, followed by Raphael Mader and Riggel’s Metamorphosis on BeatFreak Recordings. Armonica and Dear Humans’ Better With Time, in the Armonica Version on Connected Frontline, leads into Steve Fokas’ Neptune from Endangered.
Yannek Maunz’s Omnist on Parquet Recordings gives way to Booka Shade’s own remix of Chemical Release on Blaufield Music. Boris Brejcha and Ginger’s Happinezz on Ultra then adds another melodic techno selection to the middle stretch.
Space Motion and NekliFF’s Laziness sits between that material and Olivier Giacomotto’s Elle on Yoshitoshi Recordings. Monkey Safari’s Omen from Hommage follows with the programme still focused on melodic house and techno.
Tim Engelhardt’s Sun, remixed by Fur Coat for Eleatics Records, precedes Monolink’s Rodriguez Jr. Remix of Frozen on Embassy One. Michael Chiritos’ Back from Whole Story Lab and Super Flu and CIOZ’s Body Juice on Crosstown Rebels bring the set to its final electronic selections.
