Francesco Conti and Friends episode 7 welcomes guest DJ MaurizioG for another edition of the series on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform serving listeners across the region and internationally.
Francesco Conti is an Italian DJ and producer from Rome whose background is closely connected with the city's radio, club and rave culture. Growing up around the electronic music that shaped the late 1980s and early 1990s, he became particularly influenced by Acid House and Techno.
He began working with radio stations in Rome in 1992 while also developing his experience in the capital's nightclub scene. Those early years gave him a foundation in underground electronic music that he would continue to reinterpret through his own DJ sets and production work.
In 2003, Francesco relocated to Italy's Adriatic coast and continued expanding his activity as a DJ. Three years later, he won the Equinox DJ Competition in Riccione against sixteen other Italian DJs, giving his career another important step forward.
That result opened further opportunities in Ibiza, where he went on to take part in events on the island over the following years. The experience added another international dimension to a career already developed through radio, club performance and electronic music culture in Italy.
Francesco later moved further into production and began building a catalogue of original releases, remixes and collaborations. His work can be explored through SoundCloud and Beatport, where his recent activity shows an increasingly broad approach to electronic music.
His 2026 output includes Subway on NDI, released in both Original and Dub versions and centred on Raw, Deep and Hypnotic Techno. The Original Mix runs at 130 BPM while the Dub Mix increases the pace to 138 BPM, giving the same composition two distinctly different club interpretations.
Earlier in the year, Vibes Everywhere appeared through Get Wild in Vocal, Instrumental and El Brujo Remix versions. Beatport categorised all three within Drum and Bass, showing Francesco moving well beyond the House and Techno foundations usually associated with his catalogue.
The Offline Remixes release on NDI also demonstrated the flexibility of his material. Francesco's original version moved through Melodic House and Techno, while El Brujo and Chris van Deer reshaped it as Raw, Deep and Hypnotic Techno and Gianni Piras took the track into Raw, Deep and Hypnotic Trance.
These releases show a producer increasingly comfortable working across different tempos and structures rather than remaining within a single electronic genre. His recent catalogue moves between Techno, Melodic House and Techno, Drum and Bass and deeper hypnotic forms while retaining the club-focused experience developed across more than three decades.
Radio continues to be an important part of Francesco's activity, including collaborations with stations such as United Techno Familia and YouMixRadio. His wider catalogue is also available through Spotify, connecting his current studio work with the long DJ career behind it.
Across more than thirty years of activity, Francesco has performed alongside numerous internationally recognised DJs and continued developing his musical approach through new collaborations and production work. This episode’s guest is MaurizioG, an Italian DJ and producer whose work spans House, Techno and several related areas of underground electronic music. Early in his career, he relocated to Frankfurt, Germany, where exposure to the city’s club culture helped him develop both as a DJ and as a producer.
His time in Germany became an important part of his musical development, giving him access to a strong electronic music environment and regular opportunities to perform. His club history includes appearances at Le Panther and U60311 in Frankfurt, Early Bird, Bellini Club in Mainz, Mint Club in Darmstadt, Isaport Club in Munich, Pacha in Crans-Montana, Tantra and Esvedra in Ibiza, Wish Club in Riccione, Bcocktail Club and Le Club in Milan, and numerous other venues across Europe.
Alongside his DJ career, MaurizioG has developed an extensive production catalogue. His releases move through Progressive House, Afro House, Organic House, Deep House, Melodic House and Techno, reflecting a broader musical identity than any single club genre would suggest.
His label history includes NDI Records, Trench Records, Discolored Records, Komp Records, Drum Tunnel Records, Incepto Music, Ground Department and Move Music. These different outlets have given him room to explore both deeper House material and more direct electronic productions while continuing to develop his own studio approach.
His recent work shows a noticeable movement towards deeper and more organic forms of House. AuraSyn, a collaboration with Cafe De Anatolia released through Cafe De Anatolia REC. in August 2026, is an Organic House production at 125 BPM that brings a warmer and more atmospheric character into his catalogue.
Earlier in 2026, Erebo received a remix from SIS through Envelope Mountain Records. The 125 BPM Deep House interpretation places emphasis on groove and restrained movement, demonstrating how MaurizioG’s original ideas can be reshaped within a more subtle club framework.
Couplechoes has also become an important part of his recent output. Originally released through Approved Dark in Extended and Streaming versions, the Deep House track later appeared through Nothing But and LW Recordings, extending its life across several compilations and platforms.
That sequence of releases shows a producer increasingly comfortable working within deeper House structures while maintaining the melodic and rhythmic detail associated with his broader catalogue. The 124 BPM pacing of Couplechoes gives the track a measured character that contrasts with some of the more forceful Techno and Progressive material found elsewhere in his work.
MaurizioG has also continued working as a remixer, including his interpretation of Federica Baby Doll and Mauro Novani’s Bastet. Released through Kattivo Red Records, the remix moves into Melodic House and Techno at 129 BPM and demonstrates another side of his studio identity.
Across his career, MaurizioG has used DJing and production as closely connected parts of the same practice. Club experience informs the way he structures records, while production gives him material that can move between deeper House settings, melodic electronic music and more driving dancefloors.
His appearance on Francesco Conti and Friends brings that broad experience into the programme. With a background stretching from Frankfurt club culture to contemporary Organic House and Deep House releases, MaurizioG adds another experienced Italian perspective to a series built around underground electronic music and international guest artists.
Francesco Conti opens the first hour with Falso Simulacro's "Seven Stripes" before A503X and Lorenzo Chi establish a tougher direction built around driving percussion, machine rhythms and an early streak of Acid Techno. Christian Smith's "Step By Step" and Frank Biazzi's "Take Control" increase the pressure further, pushing the programme towards the forceful club energy of Peak Time Techno.
El Brujo's remix of Lucid Aberration and Liquid Static leads into Anwalter, Dyno and DJQ as the first hour becomes increasingly focused on darker, functional Techno rather than melodic release. Matvienkov, Ugo Anzoino Master Master and Nine Dot Ten maintain that intensity before Murat Ugurlu Twins Project, Daniel Boon and Makaja Gonzales Van Maesen bring Francesco Conti's section to a hard, uncompromising finish.
MaurizioG completely changes the atmosphere in the second hour, moving from an untitled promo into Volen Sentir's "Ororel", a track rooted firmly in Organic House, before Matter and Franky Wah broaden the melodic character. Jose Baez's "Nuestra Raiz" and MaurizioG's own "Rebirth" continue that warmer direction, allowing the programme to move naturally towards Progressive House after the much harder opening hour.
MaurizioG's remix of Gate 44 leads into Dim2Play with Svet and "Satsang" from The Ataman, Margaryan and The Khitrov, maintaining the second hour's deeper, globally influenced character. His own "Flashback" and "Distance" then set up the closing remix of El Brujo and The Rhythm Fixxer's "Los Meppos 2", completing an episode whose contrast between hard techno and deeper progressive material was also reflected in the original Scientific Sound Asia presentation.
