DJ Joshua announces tracklist for ‘Floating Beats’ 430 and ‘Velvety Elements’ 03

DJ Joshua presents Floating Beats 430 and Velvety Elements 03 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Based in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua is identified in the original profile as Joshua Mar and is also known as Joshua Fernand. He is a music enthusiast and collector whose deep love for electronic music informs the records he selects.

His collection spans House Music, Drum and Bass, Chillout and Techno. Floating Beats is his weekly show for deeper progressive sounds and mellower Techno selections.

Velvety Elements provides a space for softer, more emotive House music and detailed arrangements. Joshua began DJing in the early 1990s, learning to mix records and developing his attachment to vinyl.

He began on local radio, playing a broad range of electronic music and appearing at House and Techno events organised with friends. During Portugal’s growing rave culture, he recognised radio as a way to connect with and engage an audience.

After the arrival of his daughter, Joshua stepped back from the music scene for a period. Having focused on fatherhood, he later returned to music.

That return led to Floating Beats Sessions, through which he shares his artistic vision with listeners around the world. Joshua explains, "Music is an art form, a fusion that encapsulates emotions and inspires movement. This space is where you can experience sounds that float above, only to settle beautifully within you. Enjoy the journey!"

Across his weekly programmes, Joshua presents a captivating mix that includes Deep House, Tech House, Melodic House, Detroit House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Vocal House and Melodic Techno. His podcasts reach international audiences through House Music and Techno radio stations.

Floating Beats and Velvety Elements bring together energetic grooves and gentler melodic material within Joshua’s wider electronic music practice. The two programmes give him separate formats for underground electronic selections and warmer House-focused records.

Floating Beats 430 opens with Collective Machine and James Cole’s I’m Okay, before Frink’s Sofisticate in the James Dexter remix establishes a Deep House tone on Bondage Music. Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato follow with Strip Club on Rawthentic, bringing Tech House into the early section, while Eat Dust’s Sem Medo follows.

Gustaff’s Late Sunrise on Distance Music moves into Deep Tech House. Chemical Soldiers answers with Beautiful People on Abyss Records, adding a direct House Music record.

GruuvElement’s Night With Gruuv arrives through BEAT Music Fund, followed by Van Czar’s Bouge from the Bonzai Back Catalogue. Their contrast keeps the first hour rooted in club-focused rhythm while moving from Tech House towards deeper material.

Sven Tasnadi’s Straight Forward on Hive Audio leads into Sascha Dive’s Funky Rhythm Seduction. Aseem closes this part of the programme with Alice Gold on Bosom, drawing the opening hour back towards a deeper house-led feel.

Velvety Elements 03 begins with Fynn Callum’s Deep South West in the Jonny Bee remix on UM Records (6). Black Loops follows with Higher on Planet E Communications, giving the opening of the second hour a warm house foundation.

Jorge Caiado’s About Love precedes Jorge Savoretti’s Parana High on Visionquest Special Editions. Platzdasch and Dix then bring Now I See You in the Deepest Kind Mix through Crooks & Villains Records, returning the selection to a deeper groove.

Franck Roger’s Love Is What We Need on Home Invasion keeps the mood warm and melodic. Aron Volta follows with Catch This on PIV, extending the deeper rhythmic direction into the later part of Velvety Elements.

Nikki O and Javonntte’s Sweet Midnight Dub on Ele Records leads into Steve Kelley’s In My House on Sublease Music. Tripmastaz and Guti’s D’Julz remix of R U Happy on Pets Recordings gives way to Kevin Yost’s The Bull in Yost’s Encierro remix on TSOY, ending the second hour with a deeper final passage.
