DJ Joshua announces tracklist for ‘Floating Beats’ 427

DJ Joshua presents episode 427 of Floating Beats on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter of events and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

Born in Évora, Portugal, DJ Joshua has built a distinctive approach to electronic music with an international audience in mind. Floating Beats provides an outlet for the deeper, progressive and underground sides of his selection.

Joshua has been involved in electronic music culture since the mid-1990s, gaining experience across vinyl, cassettes, CDs and digital formats. His background includes club work, event organisation and support for Portugal’s underground music community during quieter periods for its scene.

After time away from DJing, he returned through Floating Beats, bringing a focus on atmosphere and measured progression to the programme. His sets can work in a club setting or as focused listening at home, with rhythm and melody given equal weight.

Alongside DJing, Joshua produces under several aliases, including Joshua Fernand, Joshua Marian and K Joshua. His output ranges from modern Techno to deeper and more soulful material, while JFLM Recordings is associated with his work as Joshua Fernand.

The programme is informed by his interest in electronic music’s different forms and by a preference for mixes that develop with purpose. That approach brings together detailed percussion, melodic passages and enchanting melodies without losing the physical pull of the rhythm.

DJ Joshua says, "Every track tells a story, and my goal is to evoke emotions and memories through my mixes," he explains. He aims to create an inviting atmosphere in which listeners can connect with the music and one another.

Episode 427 was presented as a selection shaped by unity, energy and the possibilities of a well-produced electronic set. Its tracklist moves from tightly focused rhythms towards warmer House and deeper late-session material.

Floating Beats 427 opens with Heiko Laux featuring Alexander Lukat’s Lucho Part 1 in its Live Record version before Mihai Popoviciu’s Mistral brings Deep Tech House into focus on Cyclic Records. The early pairing establishes a restrained, detailed start built around low-slung rhythm rather than immediate peaks.

Chus, Ceballos and Dennis Cruz follow with The Sun in the Drums Mix on Global Underground, adding a Melodic House and Techno turn to the programme. Josh Butler’s Nightshade then moves into Tech House, while Josh Wink’s Aries In Mars in the Mars Beats version adds a tougher rhythmic edge.

Caravala’s Rasca & Pica on Plastik Galaxy and Chris Carrier’s Lota Draconis on Adult Only keep the Tech House pressure close to the floor. Wheats changes the temperature with Point 7, an Extended Mix on Sola that introduces House Music with a more open groove.

Sous Sol’s Hazy Vision on Hive Audio brings an Organic House texture into the final stretch. Jay Shepheard and Pete Herbert close the confirmed sequence with Mirage on Retrofit, settling into Deep House before Mara’s 1974 provides the final listed selection.
