Cocosova presents her guest mix on Scientific Sound Asia Podcast 146. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
This week's guest DJ is Cocosova, a Russian DJ who was previously resident at Jagger Bar, Neft Lounge, Matur Lounge and Lulu Rest. She also took part in the Pavlovka One Love Festival and the Shihan Dance Competition in Russia in 2017, drawing on dance music from around the world.
With old-school black music roots and a soulful taste, the fresh spirited DJ brings an individual perspective to dance and eclectic music. A finalist in DJ Battle Russia in 2018, she favours funky and groovy selections, bringing soul to sets spanning House, Nu-Disco, Funk, Tribal and Techno while exploring darker and more exotic genres.
Cocosova moved to Vietnam in 2019 and, at the time of publication, pursued her mission of sharing underground music with a particular flavour. This guest mix marked her welcome to Scientific Sound Asia.

Upfront's Infatuation on Ballroom Records adds an Electronic edge, followed by Detroit Swindle featuring Jungle by Night on Call Of The Wild and OB Ignitt and Omar S on Fellow Me. Plustwo's Melody on MIO Records and FCL's Red D Italian Dub of Can We Try on We Play House Recordings return the selection to Deep House.
Ray Mang's Batidas Da Paix, Mascara's instrumental Baja and The Tool Rampa, Re.you and RAR's The Tool broaden the middle stretch. Oli Furness's Wanna Lie Down on Emerald City Music restores the House Music focus ahead of the later club-oriented material.
J. Nandez's Disco on Hall Of Fame Records introduces Tech House, while Lipelis's Children Song brings Afro House through Animals Dancing. Zadak and Kotelett's Dschinnijah on Acker Records sits beside Plez's Can't Stop in its Acid Rain Forest Mix, released by Loaded Records.
Stones Taro's Banging on Coordinate Records precedes Orient Express's Abdullah Dollar in Marwan Hawash's edit. Jimi Tenor closes with Caravan on Warp Records, giving the final passage an Alternative finish.
