Rocka Lula is a DJ and event promoter, and one of the resident DJs at Bristol's House of Disco and Oui Le Disco. Her musical background is rooted in the scenes of New York's Danceteria, Studio 54 and Paradise Garage, alongside nights at Manchester's Hacienda and underground warehouse parties of the 1980s and 1990s.
Her style combines New York underground disco, Chicago house and Detroit techno with soulful, funky and feel-good selections. Rocka Lula's sets draw on those references while bringing older club music into a contemporary setting.
The guest mix brings together Pete Bidwell and Rocka Lula's shared interest in dancefloor music from different eras. It connects past and present through rhythmic selections and soulful melodies.
