Bicycle Corporation present Roots episode 28 on Scientific Sound Asia, a programme first aired on 29 March 2020. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian collaboration between DJ and producer Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they have released more than 50 tracks and remixes within house music and techno.
Marco began his musical career as a DJ in the early 1990s and hosted events across Italy under the name Urban People. His growing profile led to a residency at the Pacha nightclub chain in Egypt, bringing international recognition and DJ bookings that expanded his work beyond Italy.
Born and raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano showed an aptitude for music from an early age and studied classical piano, percussion and drums. He also composed pieces inspired by Chopin and by the tribal rhythms of West African Djembes.
During adolescence, Stefano became increasingly interested in the figure of the DJ and in electronic music. The electronic beats that were difficult to find on Italian radio during the 1990s opened a new chapter in his musical life.
The tracklist documents foundational influences on the duo's sound and on their electronic music releases, encompassing Funk, Disco, Soul, Afrobeat, Electro, Rare Groove, Hip Hop and Afrocentric sounds. Bicycle Corporation is available for booking via our DJ agency for Asia.

Brooklyn Dreams' Street Man on Mercury Records introduces the set's Nu-Disco current, followed by War's Galaxy on Far Out Productions. Stargard's Which Way Is Up, Chemise's She Can't Love You on Unidisc Music and B.T. Express' Do It ('Til You're Satisfied) on Roadshow Records keep the rhythm buoyant while returning to R&B.
Airto Moreira's Celebration Suite (Dan Shake Cut) turns attention towards Brazilian percussion, and Dom Um Romão's Amor En Jacuma on Original Jazz Classics deepens the Brazilian presence. Erotic Drum Band 78's Glenn Rivera Restructure Mix then gives way to Gilberto Gil's Toda Menina Baiana (Tahira Re-edit).
Manu Dibango's Soul Makossa (Johnick Mix) precedes Osunlade's Cantos A Ochun Et Oya on Yoruba Records, where House Music enters the selection. T-Connection's Do What You Wanna Do (Moplen Remix) on High Fashion Music extends that club-facing passage without losing the programme's earlier rhythmic focus.
Liaisons Dangereuses' Los Ninos Del Parque (Alkalino Rework) brings an experimental rework into play, followed by KC & Sunshine Band's Black Waters Hold (V's As It Used To Be Edit). The Incredible Bongo Band's Apache on Mr Bongo restores a percussive Nu-Disco edge before Bobby O's Still Hott 4 U provides the set's Hi-NRG moment.
Brenda Harris' Making Love Will Keep You Fit (Massimiliano Pagliara Edit) and Airto Moreira's Toque De Cuica (Discobody Edit) return the final stretch to edits and Brazilian musical references. Timmy Thomas' In Zaire (Bc Edit) leads into Gilberto Gil's Patuscada De Gandhi (Edit Gomes), before Lee Oskar's Our Road on Avenue Records closes the programme.
