For their Foundations 85 show, Bicycle Corporation is pleased to reveal that guest DJ Bean There will perform a new radio show. Scientific Sound Asia, which operates as both an Asian electronic music station and a DJ agency, caters to audiences in both the local region and on a global scale.
Italian production collaboration, Bicycle Corporation, comprises DJ and Producer Marco MEI, alongside Stefano Ugliano, also recognized as 6884. Back in the early nineties, Marco embarked on his career as a disc jockey and producer.
Following his short introduction, he began organising his unique house music and techno events under the alias 'Urban People' throughout his native land. Demonstrating remarkable achievement, he transferred to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt after a decade in the Italian music circuit to commence a residency with the internationally esteemed event series Pacha.
His DJ sets and productions garnered attention, leading to international bookings. He has shared the decks with globally renowned artists such as David Morales, Justin Berkman, Roger Sanchez, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry Romero, Ralph Falcon, and numerous others.
Stefano, hailing from Torino, Italy, exhibited promising musical talent from a young age. His passion for the musical arts quickly became a central focus in his life, occupying much of his spare time. He delved into classical piano, percussion, and drums, while also harbouring a deep appreciation for the works of Chopin and the rhythms of West African Djembe.
Despite Stefano's diverse musical interests, one passion stood out above all others: the art of DJing. As a teenager, he found himself drawn to the allure of the person behind the turntables. The beats and rhythms spun by DJs held a unique appeal for him, especially considering their scarcity on Italian radio stations during that era.
For many, the idea of creating and performing music before large audiences might seem like an unattainable dream. However, Stefano refused to be discouraged. With a clear vision in mind, he partnered with Marco and embarked on a journey fuelled by hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination. Through their collective efforts, Bicycle Corporation was born, bringing Stefano's dream to fruition.
Despite their success, Marco and Stefano remain grounded in their humble origins. Recently, they have revisited some of their earlier tracks, reflecting on the journey that led them to where they are today. To honour their roots and share their musical evolution, they have established a Bandcamp page to distribute these earlier works.
Guest DJ Bean There.
This week's guest DJ is Bean There, a veteran of the rave scene since the early 1990s. He immersed himself in the British rave culture, frequenting renowned events like Fantazia and Helter Skelter during his formative years. Many nights were spent revelling in the pulsating beats until the early hours of the morning.
In the mid-1990s, Bean There transitioned into becoming an MC, collaborating and performing with numerous top UK DJs nationwide. However, in the early 2000s, he decided to step away from the microphone to focus on starting a family. Nevertheless, his passion for electronic music has remained unwavering, with him maintaining a deep connection to various forms of the genre.
Feeling restless, Bean There made the bold decision to venture into DJing a few years ago. With a natural aptitude for learning and bolstered by the generous support of friends and fellow artists, including the owner of Sweatbox Records based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and DJ Biscuit, he dedicated himself to mastering the craft. Through perseverance and guidance, he eventually honed his skills behind the decks.
Bean There is renowned for his versatility as a performer, seamlessly blending an eclectic mix of genres including Deep Tech, House, Progressive, Melodic, Bass House, Tech House, and his personal favourite, Techno. His passion for DJing shines through in every set, and he thrives on the exhilarating experience of hunting for new tracks to keep his performances dynamic and fresh.
Bean There is perpetually hunting for undiscovered gems as he digs deep into the music scene. The satisfaction he derives from seeing people revel in his sets fills him with elation, spurring him to deliver unforgettable performances. With an unwavering commitment to his craft, he continuously refines his technique, always seeking to learn and grow as a DJ.
