Bicycle Corporation guest DJ Terence C for Electronic Roots 146

Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as guest DJ for episode 146 of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. The platform operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, while also publishing music news and connecting audiences across the region and internationally.

Bicycle Corporation is the long-running collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they combine decades of experience in electronic music, drawing on House, Techno and live musicianship to create a distinctive musical identity.

Marco Mei began DJing during the early years of Italy’s underground electronic movement. Through his involvement with the Urban People collective, he became part of a generation helping shape independent House and Techno culture before expanding his profile through residencies and performances across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Stefano Ugliano developed his musical foundations through classical studies in piano, percussion and drums. Influenced by traditional composition and global rhythmic traditions, he later moved into electronic music production, bringing arrangement, structure and musical depth to Bicycle Corporation.

Together, Marco and Stefano have built a catalogue spanning House, Techno and deeper electronic styles while keeping a clear connection to underground music culture. Alongside their productions and live performances, Electronic Roots gives them a platform to present a wide range of electronic sounds and guest artists from around the world.

Episode 146 brings together Bicycle Corporation’s broad musical perspective with Terence C, a respected figure connected to Asia’s underground electronic music community. The result is another edition shaped by international collaboration, deep club influences and the programme’s focus on quality electronic music.

DJ Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest DJ for this edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. Originally from Malaysia and now based in Shanghai, Terence C has spent more than two decades building a respected reputation within Asia’s underground electronic music scene.

Known for technical precision, considered programming and a strong understanding of dancefloor dynamics, he has become one of the region’s established House and Techno selectors. His influence on Kuala Lumpur’s electronic music community has been significant, with club residencies and long-running appearances helping shape the city’s underground House and Techno culture.

Through well-structured sets and a consistent commitment to quality music, he developed a reputation for balancing energy, groove and musical depth. Throughout his career, Terence has shared line-ups with internationally recognised artists including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His appearances alongside John Digweed, including Digweed’s visits to Malaysia and performances at Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, strengthened his standing within South East Asia’s Progressive House and Techno communities.

His professional career began in 1998 under the guidance of DJ Chris Doss, leading to early performances at venues such as Cubeat and Globar. A breakthrough opportunity came when he supported David Morales during the House music figure’s first appearance in Malaysia, opening the door to further bookings at Movement, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere.

International appearances followed at venues including Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City. These bookings helped extend his profile beyond Malaysia while connecting his sound with wider Asian club audiences.

In 2005, Terence co-founded Altered Image alongside Callen Tham and Digital. The multimedia project combined electronic music, turntablism and visual performance, later gaining wider attention after winning the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition.

Before the pandemic, he also co-founded We Love Techno with DJ XU. The event series focused on harder and more direct Techno sounds associated with labels such as Drumcode and Cocoon, becoming a recognised fixture within Kuala Lumpur’s underground club scene.

In recent years, Terence C has developed his performance style through hybrid DJ setups combining traditional mixing with Ableton Live integration. His Movement Control mix series documents that approach, presenting detailed track selection, technical creativity and a contemporary view of House and Techno performance.

Alongside his DJ work, Terence remains active in the studio and develops new productions while appearing across international radio platforms. His contribution to Electronic Roots connects his long-standing role in Asian underground electronic music with Bicycle Corporation’s wider international outlook.
