DJ Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as guest DJ for episode 151 of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the long-running collaboration between Italian DJ and producer Marco Mei and classically trained musician Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Together, they combine extensive experience in electronic music with a project shaped by club culture, production and a broad musical outlook.
Marco Mei began DJing in Turin during the early 1990s and became closely involved with the Urban People collective. That period placed him within Italy's developing underground House and Techno culture before his career expanded through residencies and performances across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
A residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh became an important stage in Marco's international career and led to further bookings across different club scenes. He is now based in Taipei, where he remains closely connected with electronic music activity throughout Asia.
Years spent working across different clubs and audiences have given Marco a broad approach to selection rather than tying him to one narrow area of electronic music. House remains an important foundation, while deeper grooves, Techno and other club-focused styles regularly feature across his sets and radio programmes.
Stefano Ugliano developed his musical foundations through classical piano, percussion and drums before moving further into electronic production. His influences range from traditional composition to West African djembe, bringing another perspective to Bicycle Corporation's arrangements and studio work.
Working as 6884, Stefano provides the production-focused counterpart to Marco's extensive experience behind the decks. That combination gives Bicycle Corporation room to connect DJ culture, musicianship and detailed studio production across a wide range of electronic styles.
The duo have released more than fifty original productions and remixes through labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx. More of their catalogue can be explored through Bicycle Corporation's Bandcamp, where music from different stages of the project remains available.
Electronic Roots extends that broad musical outlook into radio, giving Bicycle Corporation a platform for both their own selections and international guest artists. The programme is not restricted to one interpretation of House or Techno, allowing different areas of underground electronic music to develop naturally across each edition.
Guest appearances are an important part of that format because they introduce different scenes, cities and approaches into the programme. Terence C brings another perspective from Asia's underground electronic music community, complementing Bicycle Corporation's long-running connection with club culture across the region.
Episode 151 continues that exchange between resident hosts and guest selectors with Terence C joining Bicycle Corporation for another edition of Electronic Roots. The programme brings together their broad musical perspective with a guest contribution shaped by underground electronic music and club-focused selection.

Guest DJ Terence C.
DJ Terence C joins Bicycle Corporation as the guest DJ for this edition of Electronic Roots on Scientific Sound Asia. Originally from Malaysia and now based in Shanghai, he has spent more than two decades developing a respected presence within Asia's underground electronic music community.
Known for technical precision, considered programming and a strong understanding of dancefloor dynamics, Terence works across House, Techno and Progressive House. His long involvement with Kuala Lumpur's club scene helped shape an approach based on groove, energy and musical depth rather than short-lived trends.
Terence began his professional DJ career in 1998 under the guidance of DJ Chris Doss, learning through direct experience with equipment and club environments. Early appearances at venues including Cubeat and Globar gave him the foundation to develop his technique and establish himself within Malaysia's growing electronic music scene.
An important early opportunity came when he supported David Morales during the House music figure's first appearance in Malaysia. Further performances at Movement, Backroom, Nouvo and Atmosphere followed, increasing his visibility across Kuala Lumpur nightlife.
International bookings later took him to venues including Lush in Singapore and Liquid in Ho Chi Minh City. These appearances extended his reach beyond Malaysia and connected his selections with audiences across Southeast Asia.
Throughout his career, Terence has appeared on line-ups with internationally recognised artists including David Morales, Fatboy Slim and Pete Tong. His performances alongside John Digweed, including appearances connected with Digweed's visits to Malaysia and Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur, strengthened his association with deeper and more progressive electronic music.
Long-form mixing and careful pacing have remained particularly important within that side of his work. His ability to build sets gradually fits naturally with Progressive House while his broader House and Techno background gives his programming considerable flexibility.
In 2005, Terence co-founded Altered Image with Callen Tham and Digital as a multimedia project combining electronic music, turntablism and visual performance. The project later gained wider recognition after winning the Malaysian edition of the Heineken Thirst competition.
Altered Image reflected Terence's interest in performance technology well before hybrid DJ setups became commonplace in clubs. It also demonstrated an approach in which visual presentation and technical experimentation could complement rather than distract from the music.
Before the pandemic, Terence co-founded We Love Techno with DJ XU, creating a platform for harder club music influenced by labels such as Drumcode and Cocoon. The project added a more forceful side to his musical identity while House and Progressive House remained important foundations.
In recent years, Terence has continued developing hybrid performance setups that combine conventional DJ mixing with Ableton Live integration. This gives him additional control over layering, structure and transitions while retaining the instincts developed through decades of traditional club DJing.
His Movement Control mix series documents that side of his work and provides a closer look at his approach to programming. Detailed selection, technical creativity and long-form progression remain central, with technology used to extend the musical idea rather than replace core DJ technique.
Alongside his work behind the decks, Terence remains active in the studio and continues developing original productions. Radio and mix platforms provide another outlet for his selections, allowing his work to reach listeners beyond the clubs and events where he performs.
His move from Malaysia to Shanghai adds another chapter to a career already closely connected with different parts of Asia. Rather than being tied to one local scene, Terence C has developed a regional identity through Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and now China.
Terence C. opens Electronic Roots Episode 151 with Brickman's The Moment, establishing a direct House groove before Davi's It Disappeared Among The Trees introduces the deeper melodic pull of Progressive House. Thaddeus X then shifts briefly into Deep House with Dub Taylor's remix of Firewalk, creating an early contrast between warmer low-end movement and the more expansive Progressive House material that follows.
Christian Smith's L'Amour Toujours in Gai Barone's remix and D-Nox with Andre Moret's I Love a Robot continue the Progressive House direction with more pronounced melodic tension. Lemon8's The Bells Of Revolution then returns the programme to House before Pattn's Frequencies introduces Melodic House and Techno, widening the set's tonal range without losing its steady underground pulse.
Kasey Taylor and Stereo Underground's Lose Your Mind, Zuccasam's Open Arms and Monojoke with Amaare's Dots form a sustained Progressive House run through the middle of the mix. Hardt Antoine follows with Raw, bringing the selection back towards Melodic House and Techno before Raxon and Scuba move into raw, deep and hypnotic Techno, giving the episode its darkest rhythmic section.
Anthony Pappa and Fauxplay's Forever Seeking in the Simon Vuarambon remix restores the Progressive House flow, followed by Ezequiel Arias' Psychodelia and two consecutive Max Wexem tracks, Through Time and Firewall. Robert Babicz then continues that melodic progression with Minimal Nation, reinforcing the programme's strong connection to long-form, steadily developing club music.
Sandrino and Jepe's Love Longing bring House back into the closing stretch before Sasha's Hollow Sun 25 shifts the emphasis once more towards Melodic House and Techno. Funk D'Void and Joris Voorn then close with Diabla, ending the episode on the same melodic and electronic axis that has run through much of the second half.
Across Electronic Roots 151, Progressive House provides the dominant foundation, supported by Melodic House and Techno, House, Deep House and two raw, hypnotic Techno selections. Terence C. keeps the mix cohesive by alternating deeper grooves, melodic progression and darker club pressure while maintaining a clear underground focus from beginning to end.
Listen to the live broadcast on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM Indochina Time (ICT), and hear the replay on Sunday from 6 AM to 8 AM (ICT).
