Bicycle Corporation welcomes guest DJ Yorri for his first Electronic Roots show. Scientific Sound Asia is the electronic music station, promoter, and DJ agency for Asia and the wider international community.

Bicycle Corporation is an Italian duo made up of DJ and producer Marco Mei together with the talented Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884. Marco began his musical journey in the early nineties, starting out as a DJ and producer while organising events under the collective name Urban People throughout Italy.

His work gained significant recognition and led to a residency at Pacha. This opened the path to international bookings and set him on a global musical journey.

Born and raised in Torino, Italy, Stefano showed strong musical ability from childhood. He studied classical piano, percussion and drums with passion, developing a love for both Chopin’s compositions and the sound of West African djembe.

Yet the image of a DJ commanding the crowd grew increasingly captivating for the young Stefano. Those electronic beats, difficult to access on Italian radio in the early 1990s, soon became the spark for a new direction in his life, ultimately leading to the formation of Bicycle Corporation. More recently, the duo have revisited their early catalogue and have launched a Bandcamp page to re-release and distribute their original tracks.

Guest DJ Yorri.

This week's guest DJ is Yorri, hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia. From an early age he immersed himself in a wide range of musical styles, developing a deep appreciation for sound long before stepping behind the decks. Early influences such as Nathan Fake, James Holden, Paul Kalkbrenner and Fairmont shaped his taste for emotive, melodic and atmospheric electronic music, eventually guiding him toward DJing in 2011.

Since then, Yorri has become a recognised figure in Jakarta’s vibrant underground scene. His sets, marked by fluid progression and detailed selection, have earned him regular appearances at many of the city’s leading clubs.

Over the years, he has shared the booth with an impressive list of international artists, including Droog, John Digweed, Bicep, Ben Klock, Dubfire, HVOB, Jody Wisternoff and many others, experiences that have further refined his sound and strengthened his presence in Indonesia’s electronic landscape. In 2012, he co-founded House Cartel, a Jakarta-based House and Techno collective dedicated to supporting local talent and promoting quality electronic music events.

The collective quickly became a key platform within the city’s nightlife, allowing Yorri to deepen his role as both a performer and community builder. Today, Yorri continues to push his craft forward through thoughtful, genre-crossing DJ sets that reflect more than a decade of dedication to the underground scene.

Electronic Roots Episode 17 invites listeners into a refined and atmospheric journey curated by Yorri, blending Indie Dance, Leftfield House and deeper club textures. The set opens with DJ Ical’s meditative Breathe In and Out in the Indra7 remix, setting a hypnotic tone that eases into the charged, melodic energy of Vlad Jet’s Carnival rework by Marc DePulse. Yorri builds the momentum through Touchtalk’s Dark Force and Sobek’s Oscuro, guiding the mix into moody and rhythm-driven territory.

The selection moves into warmer indie and disco-laced motifs with Kasper Bjørke’s Oceans of Time, reimagined by Bawrut, and the colourful Acid Neverland from Tunnelvisions. Yorri continues to shift textures with the kinetic Eclipse remix by Jenia Tarsol and Kino Todo, followed by the percussive flair of DJ T’s Harem Disco in the Chaim and Uriah Klapter interpretation.

As the set deepens, Leo Sagrado’s Mess and Jonathan Kusuma’s Mordor Disko introduce heavier low-end elements balanced with cosmic synth work. Whitesquare’s remix of Telepopmusik’s Who Gives a Fuck shapes one of the most atmospheric stretches of the episode, before Dor Danino and Morris’s Galala opens into brighter tonal layers.

The mix expands into progressive-influenced edges with Anturage and S.Samo’s Evolving Flow and the textured rhythms of Millero’s Ketema. Fall Forward and Grainger’s Every Little Thing provides a melodic lift ahead of a standout moment in the Red Axes remix of Out of Orbit and Shpongle’s No Disco.

Closing the journey, Yorri presents a trio of forward-thinking selections. Avalon Emerson’s One More Fluorescent Rush offers shimmering movement and depth, HABIT’s Disco Express injects dancefloor momentum, and Kinky Sound’s Blow maintains high energy before the final ascent through Adana Twins’ The Curve and Whitesquare’s Pressured Mind. Fideles’ Interface Technology elevates the mix with cinematic presence, with Dombrance’s Taubira in the Prins Thomas remix rounding off the episode in true leftfield style.

Episode 17 is a strong reflection of Yorri’s eclectic, colourful and forward-thinking approach, bringing Indie Dance, Dark Disco, Leftfield House and modern progressive sounds together in a cohesive and expressive showcase for Electronic Roots.
