Bicycle Corporation announced DJ Brendon P as the guest for episode 40 of their Roots show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Bicycle Corporation is the Italian collaboration between Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano, who also works under the alias 6884. Formed in 2009, the pair have released more than fifty productions and remixes spanning Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno.
Marco began DJing in Turin in 1991 and was involved with the Urban People collective during the early years of Italy's underground house and techno scene. Through Urban People, he led house music and techno events before his work brought recognition across Italy and bookings abroad.
His international work has included a residency at Pacha in Sharm el-Sheikh and appearances at Woo Bar in Bali, The Mansion in Shanghai, Fuse in Brussels and The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City. His production work with Bicycle Corporation has appeared through labels including Alchemy, Miniatures, WL77, Suka and GrooveTraxx.
Stefano grew up in Torino, Italy, and developed an interest in music from an early age. His formal studies included classical piano, percussion and drums, alongside musical interests that ranged from Chopin's compositions to West African djembe rhythms.
During his teenage years in the 1990s, Stefano became particularly interested in DJs and the records they played, at a time when this music was rarely heard on Italian radio. Those interests in performance, rhythm and electronic production later informed his work with Marco.
Marco and Stefano brought their respective experiences together in Bicycle Corporation, combining club-based electronic music with broad musical references. Their work balances Marco's background as a DJ and promoter with Stefano's instrumental training and production approach.
The duo have revisited some of their earlier material and established a Bandcamp page for distribution. Their Roots programme provides space for DJs and producers from Asia's electronic music scene, alongside the wider selection interests that inform Bicycle Corporation.
Episode 40 features Brendon P in his third guest mix for the series. The edition places his contribution within Bicycle Corporation's continuing Roots programme.

Brendon Perera, known in the professional world as DJ Brendon P, is originally from Singapore and has more than forty years of experience as a disc jockey. With a humble, lo-fi approach to his art, Brendon P's journey through the music and club scene is filled with a rich history. He began his career in Singapore's mobile DJ circuit in 1980, moving to club performances the following year.
Brendon P's musical path took a significant turn in 1984 during a trip to New York City. By exploring famous clubs such as the Funhouse, the Paradise Garage, Dancetaria, and the Area, he immersed himself in the city's lively club scene and eclectic musical environment, setting the stage for the development of the genre we now recognize as house music.
As a DJ, Brendon P has explored a wide range of musical styles, both in his local environment and globally, showcasing a vibrant and diverse approach to his work. Over time, Brendon P's passion for dance music intensified, broadening his collection to include various genres.
His main musical genres currently include House, Techno, Disco, Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, Lounge, and Electronica. During the 1980s, Brendon P discovered avenues for performance and expression with groups such as Juliana's and Bacchus, allowing him to display his talent both locally and internationally.
In the 1990s, Brendon P established residencies at prestigious venues like Neo Pharaohs, Venom, and NOX, paving the way for his rising career. This period set the stage for a significant nine-year residency at Singapore's renowned Zouk Club, from July 2001 to May 2009.
Subsequently, Brendon P completed a two-year residency at Kyo, which reinforced his influence in the city's vibrant nightlife. More recently, Brendon P has become a resident at the renowned Swanky CE LA VI Rooftop Club & Skybar at Marina Bay Sands, where he mesmerizes audiences with his diverse musical styles.
Currently, Brendon is a significant presence in both local and international club scenes, actively performing on stages worldwide. Known for his energetic shows, he has captivated audiences in numerous cities globally, such as Geneva, Gothenburg, Melbourne, London, New York, Miami, Taiwan, Hanoi, and Hong Kong, demonstrating his diverse skills and making a lasting impression in every place he performs.
Brendon's distinguished career goes beyond his DJ gigs; he is a highly productive producer, having launched original tracks and remixes across a wide range of labels. His musical works have been featured on prestigious platforms such as In The Woods (USA), Los Grandes (Spain), Reversoulmusic (USA), Audio Parallax (UK), Hotbox Music (USA), Soul Shift (USA), Defected (UK), Rawjak (SG), Eclesia (SG), Issys Groove (UK), Love International (MY), and One With Music (SG).
Significantly, he has performed at the legendary Cielo Club in New York with his dynamic sets, even though the venue has now shut down, solidifying his reputation as a world-famous artist. Nicolas Mattar, the owner of New York's prestigious venues 'Cielo' and 'Output', considers Brendon P a 'taste master' and one of the top DJs in the area.

DJ Brendon P opens Roots Episode 40 with Zero 7’s “In The Waiting Line” in a Koop remix before Señor Coconut and His Orchestra add their electronic Latin interpretation of “Kiss.” Bosq and Soul Clap then bring the programme towards Nu Disco and funk through “Higher,” followed by Bosq and Jesus Pagan’s percussion-led “Pura Candela.”
The Reflex revision of Barry Manilow’s “Copacabana” leads into Alma Negra and Air Zaïre before Mark Picchiotti’s “Pump The Boogie” receives JKriv’s extended remix. That Glitterbox version is officially classified as Nu Disco / Disco, making it one of the clearest Disco anchors in the first half of the programme.
Róisín Murphy precedes Magou’s “Heather’s Body,” another confirmed nu-disco and disco release, before Coeo and an Andy Buchan edit of Freeez continue the boogie-oriented section. Magou’s track draws directly on the synth-heavy disco and funk approach that characterises much of his Toy Tonics catalogue.
Daniel Wang and The Reflex’s revision of Idris Muhammad carry the set towards a looser House Music section before Bumpmen and Rae & Christian. The Mang Dynasty Vocal Remix of “Favourite Game” is officially classified as Deep House, adding a deeper club record before the final run.
Bad Zuke and Dele Sosimi then introduce Afro House through DJ Spen and Thommy Davis’ Marimba Mix of “Too Much Information.” The Quantize release classifies its DJ Spen and Thommy Davis versions as Afro House, linking Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat background with house production.
Paul Simon’s “She Moves On” receives an OOFT! rework before Enzo Conoga closes Roots Episode 40 with “Tropicat (Parte II).” Across the programme, Brendon P moves principally through nu-disco, disco, house and funk, with deep house, Afro house and Latin-influenced material adding contrast to another edit-heavy Roots selection.
