Anonymous Z presents Not So Anonymous episode 28 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Anonymous Z is known in Saigon, Vietnam, as a pioneer of the Mad Circus parties. He organised Bahrain's first underground DJ collective, Glassroom, bringing together a varied group of participants.
With misfits from several nationalities, he organised legal parties and after-parties as well as occasional renegade events that local nightlife remembers as folklore. His motto then was "They tried to bury us, but they forgot we were seeds".
As part of the Banana Hustle crew, he contributed to their tropical events in Ho Chi Minh City and helped develop their particular atmosphere. Originally a Techno head, he developed a taste for digging out distinctive Afro, House, Disco and Funk records.
He brings hand-picked Techno and contemporary Indie Dance into his selections. His skills as a disc jockey led to appearances at underground Vietnamese venues including Arcan, The Lighthouse, Broma and Vitamin D after-parties.
His non-linear sets are often improvised, responding to the crowd through tense bass lines and melodic storytelling across several musical styles. He also explores world music and earlier eras of electro.
His sets can move towards trippy, dark downtempo with tribal and South American influence, or darker leftfield electro infused with Nu-Disco, Electroclash, Wave, New Beat and Dark Disco. This episode features Minimal Techno, Dark Techno and Techno.
Anonymous Z's Not So Anonymous episode 28 opens with Lapien's Moonset in the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) mode on Tikita. Dycide's Fluctuation follows on Lowless before Vaia's Politicamente Altanero brings Peak Time Techno through Android Muziq.
Swann Decamme and Mark Howls' Futu introduces Deep Tech House from Dark Face Recordings. Yotam Avni's Shtok on Stroboscopic Artefacts and Deepbass and Ness's Distance on Dynamic Reflection return the set to its raw, deep techno focus.
Mrdie's Rato & Light Breath remix of War brings the deeper house edge via Sensum Digital. Kemmi Kamachi's Ideal Flow remix of Popureshi, released by Android Muziq, leads into Maksim Dark and Peter Groskreutz's Magma Diver on Waltraumm.
Sascha Ciccopiedi's Enter The Game keeps the Deep Tech House thread on Phobos Records. Breger's Artech remix of Public Secret then supplies Peak Time Techno, before Peter Groskreutz's Poison returns to Phobos Records.
Electrorites' Monocraft remix of The Brain That Wouldn't Die on Heavy Snatch Records gives the later stretch another peak-time techno lift. Peter Groskreutz follows with March of the Dead on Warbeats Records, returning the programme to Deep Tech House.
Etapp Kyle's Quantum on Ostgut Ton restores the raw, deep and hypnotic techno pressure near the close. Maksim Dark and Peter Groskreutz finish with Overlock on Waltraumm, ending on the deeper club-focused approach established earlier in the show.
