6047 announces tracklist for his new show 29th April 2020

6047 has published his playlist for Scientific Sound Asia podcast 227, his fourth guest mix. Scientific Sound Asia is an English-language underground electronic music radio station for the Asian region, as well as a promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.

California native 6047, read as 60:47, is a Los Angeles-based multi-styled electronic DJ and producer whose musical diversity appears in his mixes and productions. To date, he has well over 800 releases across a variety of genres and labels.

Attention to detail is a constant in his work, and his musical style includes Progressive, technical breaks and beat matching. Rather than rely on long third-person biographies of his accomplishments, he prefers to let the music do all the talking.

His mixes have been featured on podcasts and radio stations worldwide. The April 2020 mix featured two albums that had influenced him.

6047 opens Podcast 04 with a selection from Ferry Corsten’s Blueprint, beginning with “A World Beyond” before moving through “Waiting,” “Your Face” and “Something To Believe In.” The album is rooted in Trance and Psytrance, but its long-form construction also allows Corsten to move through vocal passages and more atmospheric electronic sections.

“Another Sunrise” precedes “Wherever You Are,” followed by “Edge Of The Sky” and “Reanimate” as 6047 continues through the album. Black Hole Recordings describes Blueprint as a unified long-form work built around musical transitions and narrative flow rather than a conventional collection of unrelated singles.

“Piece Of You” and “Here We Are” complete the Ferry Corsten section before 6047 turns to OceanLab’s Sirens Of The Sea. OceanLab combines Above & Beyond with vocalist Justine Suissa, placing vocal songwriting at the centre of a project closely associated with classic and progressive trance.

“Secret,” “Just Listen,” “Miracle” and “Breaking Ties” establish the second section before “On The Beach” and “I Am What I Am” move into the album’s more relaxed passages. Anjunabeats describes Sirens Of The Sea as combining Balearic material with both blissed-out pieces and dancefloor cuts, giving the album a broader range than club trance alone.

“Ashes” leads into the title track before “Lonely Girl,” “If I Could Fly” and “Come Home” bring Justine Suissa’s vocals back to the foreground. The title track’s Above & Beyond Club Mix is officially classified as main-floor trance, underlining the trance foundation behind OceanLab even when the original album versions take a softer approach.

“On A Good Day” closes Podcast 04 after two extended artist-focused sections rather than a conventional mixed playlist of different producers. Ferry Corsten provides the first half through selections from Blueprint, while OceanLab supplies a vocal and Balearic counterpoint through Sirens Of The Sea.
