Ezmun presents Cooking With Gas 12, a two-hour drum and bass special on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Cooking With Gasは、Ezmunが毎週お届けする打楽器的でグルーヴィーかつダークな音楽全般です。友人から、180BPMでミックスを録音してほしいと依頼されました。というのも、このテンポがランニングのサウンドトラックとしてぴったりだからです。第12回では、メロディアスでリキッドなセレクションからダークでテクノティックなフットワーク系サウンド、そしてジャンプアップへと続くドラム＆ベースの音源を2時間にわたってお届けします。
EzmunはもともとUnited Kingdomのカンブリア出身で、DJおよびプロデューサーとしての夢を追うためベトナムに移り住んでいました。当時、COVID-19の影響で彼は一時的にメルボルンへ移り、そこから自身が好きな音楽を中心にした週刊番組を配信する予定でした。
多くのDJと同様に、Ezmunも最初は自宅の寝室で活動を始め、親しい友人や仲間たちとハウスパーティーを楽しんでいました。2019年にはクラブへ進出し、マンチェスター、ハノイ、ラオス、Ho Chi Minh Cityの会場で演奏しています。
ミニマルなハーフタイム140秒のダークでスパースな雰囲気と、リズミカルな左寄りのベースのラリーな音響に魅了され、彼はそれらをエネルギッシュなテクノの世界の中で頂点と低谷として活用しています。彼はベトナムのUndergroundで注目を集めつつあり、いずれまたそこへ戻ることを望んでいました。
その間、彼はメルボルンのUndergroundシーンを探索し、翌年には自身の音楽をリリースすることを目標に、プロデューススキルを磨く計画を立てていました。 ガスで料理はまた、彼が好きなジャンルをより詳しく考察する中で、友人や発掘されたばかりのDJたちを紹介する場も提供しました。
Ezmun's Cooking With Gas 12 ドラムンベーススペシャルは、MetalheadzからのHidden AgendaのThe Flute TuneとSoulvent RecordsからのDilemmaのWith Youで幕を開けます。Moonshine RecordingsからのBaodubのFind the Dub、MetalheadzからのHidden AgendaのNo Man's Land、DubtasticからのLost StateのNew Dawnは、ドラムンベースのメロディックでリキッドな一面を際立たせます。
