El Brujo presents episode 18 of El Brujo and the Wild Bunch on Scientific Sound Asia, featuring guest DJ Miss Adk. Scientific Sound Asia is an electronic music radio station, promoter, music-news platform and DJ agency connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
El Brujo, who plays the first hour, is Robert Milanesi and was born in Italy, where he developed an early attachment to music. During the early 1990s, he became known as one of the founding figures of Bologna's underground rave scene.
After many years as a DJ, he began producing, and his first official release was Warriors on the Milan label Open Legs. A few years later, his record label Jambalay Records launched at its opening party at Club Geminis in Ibiza, Spain.
The label and El Brujo appeared on the worldwide scene in the February 2011 chart by Maya Jane Coles. His track, ‘Mozambique’, made with Big Mojo, was his first physical CD release and appeared on Nutty Fellas Are Go.
At the beginning of 2019, his release, Plastic Dreams, came out on Frame Worxx and reached number 33 in the Beatport Hard Techno Top 100. El Brujo has released on Elektrax, Frame Workxx, LW Recordings, Subwoofer, Berlin After Dark, Music Is The Drug, Gobekli Tepe, Fortwin Rec, Bunker, Mad Rhythm, SE7ENS and other labels.
El Brujo describes his musical approach as raw and interstellar, working across the genres he pursues in production. At the time of publication, El Brujo and the Wild Bunch introduced guest DJs from his circle of techno producers and artists, while this instalment also included tracks by his collaborators.
Guest DJ Miss Adk (second hour)
This month’s guest DJ is Miss Adk, the artist name of Rocío Bossio, an Argentine DJ and producer with a long-standing presence in underground electronic music. Across more than fourteen years, she has worked under several different monikers, describing them as different versions of herself with distinct DJ and production identities.
Miss Adk is the name she has used most consistently throughout that period. Her work has moved through several areas of electronic music, with each project allowing her to explore different ideas without being tied to a single format.
Her catalogue now includes more than 260 released tracks, giving her an extensive body of original productions and collaborations. She also hosts Miss Adk’s Horror Show on Fnoob Techno Radio in the United Kingdom and works as label manager for Underground BeatCode Records.
Her releases have appeared across a wide range of Techno compilations and label projects, including material issued through Toxic Recordings, Beats HD and Hot Peppers Raw. Recent catalogue entries place her alongside producers working across harder, industrial and underground strains of Techno.
The breadth of her recorded output reflects the production side of an artist who has consistently treated DJing and studio work as parallel disciplines. Rather than separating the two, Miss Adk has used both formats to develop the different musical identities associated with her projects.
Her work is rooted in a conceptual approach, with each alias and production phase representing a different part of her artistic output. That flexibility has allowed her to move between styles while retaining a clear connection to underground electronic music.
Alongside producing and releasing music, she has maintained a regular presence in radio through Miss Adk’s Horror Show. The programme gives her another platform for presenting new material, established influences and artists connected with her wider network.
Her involvement with Underground BeatCode Records adds a further role within the music industry beyond performing and production. As label manager, she contributes to the development and presentation of releases while remaining active as an artist in her own right.
This guest appearance gives Miss Adk the opportunity to focus specifically on her own catalogue. The mix brings together a selection of her productions and offers a direct introduction to the breadth of material she has released across the underground Techno scene.
El Brujo opens the first hour with two cuts from Just 9eorge, “Technophonic” and “Flame Red,” before A503X follows with “Criminals” and “Peace And Music.” Ben Rebel and KikaTerremotoDJ keep the hour rooted in Techno, with the entire opening set drawn from NDI promo material.
El Brujo enters with “Fantastic Flight” before DJ D ReDD and Kev Willis take the set into darker and more forceful territory. Judge Jay with Ben Rebel, Francesco Conti and Max Boncompagni complete an hour that moves between straight techno, deeper material and harder club rhythms without losing its tight label-focused identity.
Miss ADK takes complete control of the second hour with “El Preambulo,” beginning a set made entirely from her own productions. “El Infierno Presente,” “El Arte De La Destruccion” and “Victimas De Las Circunstancias” build a darker mood before “VF” pushes further into Deep Techno.
“Reactive Power” and “El Ortiva” maintain the pressure through the middle of her hour before “Nothing Left” and “Down The Curve” continue the stripped-back underground direction. The repeated use of her own material gives the set a very different character from El Brujo’s first hour, with Miss ADK able to shape the progression around her own production style.
“AND” and “Infinitive” finish the programme with the same dark techno focus that runs through most of Miss ADK’s selection. Across both hours, the programme remains firmly underground, but the NDI showcase of the first half gives way to a much more personal second hour built entirely around Miss ADK’s catalogue.
