DJ Marco Mei presents his 21 November 2020 show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an English-language electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform connecting audiences in India, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Sri Lanka and other countries.
Having almost thirty years of experience, Marco is a highly respected DJ and producer from Italy. In his early years, he cultivated a strong love for Afrobeat, Reggae, Funk, Disco, early Hip Hop, and the changing electronic music genres.
During the early 1990s, he began his career as a Disc Jockey, entertaining audiences at different locations throughout Italy. Marco honed his skills by participating in numerous festivals and clubs around the globe, performing alongside well-known DJs such as Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, and Sander Kleinenberg.
After securing a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh in the early 2000s, his career began to soar. As his popularity grew, he embarked on international tours, demonstrating his skills at prestigious locations like OBS (Saigon), Fuse (Brussels), CE' LA VI (Taipei), Shore Club (Hoi An), Bangaluu (Berlin), G-Star (Pattaya), Woobar (Bali), and Global Dance Moscow, among others.
Back in 2009, Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, partnered with Marco to form Bicycle Corporation as a production duo. Working together in the studio, they created over 50 tracks and remixes.
These tracks were acknowledged by many well-known artists in the House Music industry. In the early 2010s, Marco relocated to Taipei, Taiwan, where he frequently played at different clubs and venues throughout the city.
Based in Taipei, Marco is part of a wider South East Asian network and is available for bookings through Scientific Sound Asia's DJ agency, while his weekly show is broadcast through its radio station. As a DJ and producer, he presents Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu-Disco, Indie Dance, Electronica, and Techno during his weekly show.
Marco Mei’s 21 November 2020 show opens with St Germain’s So Flute in its Ludovic Navarre Amapiano Version 2020, an Electronica selection released by Parlophone (France). Hot Chocolate’s Kon Edit of I Just Love What You’re Doing follows on Infinity Records (2), bringing House Music into the early sequence.
Ken@Work’s The Get Down on Hive Label introduces Nu-Disco, before JB Dizzy’s Freak Street on Paper Disco returns to House Music. Tilman, Rhode & Brown then bring Paradise Space Center from Shall Not Fade into Deep House, with Seelenluft’s Ewan Pearson remix of Manila and Dave Allison’s Ain’t Nuthin To It keeping the club focus in place.
Plaisir De France’s Paradise Deep on Pro-Zak Trax holds the deeper line before The Real Harvey Wallbanger’s Greetings on There Is Love In You changes the texture. Mark Broom’s Jackson Edit on Saf Series and Book Of Love’s Deeper X Dub of Boy Pop on Sire carry the programme through another House Music passage.
Bicep’s Saku, featuring Clara La San and released by Ninja Tune, shifts the rhythm towards Tech House. Døc’s I Don’t Want To Go Home on Reenboog then introduces Melodic House and Techno in the later section.
The Advocate and Toshi’s Lunar Plane remix of Ekata on Wired brings Afro House into the mix. Hidden Empire and Artche’s Hiding on Stil Vor Talent, followed by Adana Twins’ Kollektiv Turmstrasse remix of Jupiter on Watergate Records, develops the melodic House and Techno direction.
Placid One’s Liquid Crystals on Gestalt Records introduces Electro (Classic / Detroit / Modern) before the final rise in intensity. Pig&Dan and Victor Ruiz’s Paradise Lost on Drumcode leads into Green Velvet’s Layton Giordani 2020 remix of La La Land on Relief, closing with Peak Time Techno.
