DJ Marco Mei presents episode 38 of his 2020 radio series on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
With almost thirty years of experience, Marco is an Italian DJ and producer. During his youth, he developed a strong interest in Afrobeat, Reggae, Funk, Disco, early Hip Hop and the emergence of electronic music.
In the early nineties, he began his work as a disc jockey. During his formative years, he played at venues across Italy.
Marco developed his skills through performances at festivals and clubs worldwide. He shared the stage with DJs including Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon and Sander Kleinenberg.
From the early 2000s, he held a regular spot at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh before touring worldwide. His appearances include OBS in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, CE' LA VI in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, Woobar in Bali and Global Dance Moscow.
In 2009, Marco and Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, formed Bicycle Corporation. Their studio collaboration has produced more than 50 tracks and remixes since its inception.
These tracks have received plays from established artists in the house scene. Marco lives in Taipei, Taiwan, having moved there in the early 2010s, and regularly performs at clubs and venues in the city.
Marco is also part of the pool of DJs and producers on the online radio station and our DJ Agency. His work connects his Taipei base with a wider South East Asian network of clubs, events and electronic music activity.

Marshall Jefferson, Cece Rogers, Illyus & Barrientos bring Let’s Get Busy on Ultra into Afro House and House Music territory, before Wh0’s House Of Wh0 keeps the opening direct.
Master Plan’s Electric Baile in Enzo Elia’s dub edit for Running Back leads into Loods’ Walking Away on Classic Music Company, the first Deep House entry. Dubclap’s High on Rawthentic adds Tech House, while Mystic Bill’s The Way I Feel on Trax returns the sequence to a house rhythm.
Greg May’s Take Me in the Tom Jay remix on Hottwerk Records introduces Indie Dance, with Luca Lebleu’s Hot For You and Piero Pirupa & Leon’s Get On on Toolroom following. Davie’s Testify in Mousse T.’s Funky Shizzle extended remix for Defected then gives way to Purple Disco Machine and Sophie The Giants’ Hypnotized in the Club Dub Mix, bringing in Nu-Disco.
Solardo and Paul Woolford’s Tear It Up, featuring Pamela Fernandez, appears on Ultra before Cardi B’s WAP in the Eli Bury In This House edit moves the pace forward. Junior Jack and Pat BDS follow with Klimax in the Darius Syrossian edit on Variety Music, extending the club-focused central section.
London Grammar’s Baby It’s You in the Kölsch extended version on MOS opens a more melodic passage of Melodic House and Techno. WhoMadeWho and Perel’s Der Abend Birgt Keine Ruh on Kompakt sits beside Anthony Georges Patrice’s Damiana on Dance Artifakts, which brings Peak Time Techno into the late section, before Jos & Eli’s Tanzania in the Blondish remix for MoBlack Records.
St. Germain’s Rose Rouge in the Atjazz Galaxy Aart remix on Parlophone returns to deep house, and Incognito’s Wake Me in the Louie Vega and Joe Claussell remix on Vega Records adds a soulful house finish. 8Kays’ Sun Will Come Out in the Matthias Meyer remix for Renaissance Records and Logic1000’s Perfume edit bring the set to a close through melodic electronics and indie dance.
