Anonymous Z presents Not So Anonymous 19 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Anonymous Z is best known in Saigon, Vietnam, as the founder of Mad Circus Epic parties. An organiser at heart, he also founded Glassroom, Bahrain's first underground DJ community.
Leading a group of misfits from varied backgrounds, he organised parties and after-parties, legal or otherwise, remembered by the local nightlife community. His motto at the time was "They tried to bury us, but they forgot we were seeds".
After joining the Banana Hustle crew and its punchy tropical frenzy, he helped develop its distinctive vibe. Originally a Techno head, he developed a taste for digging out unusual Afro, House, Disco and Funk records.
He adds hand-picked Techno and recent Indie Dance to his selections. His strong abilities as a selecta opened doors to underground venues including Arcan, The Lighthouse, Broma and Vitamin D after-parties.
His non-linear sets are often improvised and shaped by the dance floor, moving across styles through tense, groovy bass lines and melodic storytelling. Over time, he has explored world music and the early eras of Electro.
The results range from trippy, dark Downtempo sets with tribal and South American influence to darker, groove-focused Leftfield Electro. They also draw on Nu-Disco, Electroclash, Wave, New Beat and Dark Disco.
Anonymous Z's Not So Anonymous show 19 opens with German Brigante's Polvo Mañanero, a Tech House cut from Get Physical Music. Ferrari's Nene follows with Electronica on Universal Music Italia srL. (Metatron).
As Smooth As brings Bloom from Belly Dance Services into Indie Dance territory. Alex Aguayo's Physical, issued through N I G H T N O I S E, adds a Nu-Disco edge.
Zakmina's Donald Dust remix of Viral News and M-Barko's Arkademode remix of Bero keep the Indie Dance focus through Roam Recordings and Emerald & Doreen Records. Undo's Curses remix of Espacia Sideral, Darlyn Vlys and Alice De St Victor's Impact, and Tecwaa's Force Majeure remix of El Kopan extend that thread across Roam Recordings and Sulk Magic.
Deep'a & Biri's Echoic Memories on Transmat raises the pressure with Peak Time Techno. Morpei's Fisico on Get Physical Music then shifts towards House Music, before Ali X's Guyd remix of La Cosa returns to Indie Dance on Emerald & Doreen Records.
Da Cassino's I'm Invisible on Frenetica, Quincy Jointz's Valique Ghetto Disco Acid mix of Blast on Timewarp Music, and Shogone Deep's Silkworm on Faze Action Records sustain the darker Indie Dance passage. Joyce Muniz's Alinka remix of Give Me the Taste, featuring Kim Anh and released by Voltaire Music, restores the Peak Time Techno emphasis before Boudhicca's James Rod remix of Haerum brings back Nu-Disco through Golden Soul Records.
DJ T.'s Roland Leesker Acid Strings edit of Dis on Get Physical Music leads into ANNA's Into the Void, while White Magik's Kitschy Kitsch remix of Escape the Void on Nein Records reconnects with Indie Dance. Voiski's Blue Flag precedes Psyk's Peace of Mind on Tresor Records, closing with raw, deep and hypnotic Techno.
