El Brujo presents El Brujo and The Wild Bunch episode 08 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
El Brujo, whose real name is Robert Milanesi, was born in Italy in the 1960s and developed an early addiction to music. At the beginning of the 1990s, he became known as one of the forefathers of the underground rave scene in Bologna, Italy.
His first official release was 2008's Warriors on the Milan label Open Legs. His label, Jambalay Records, launched at its opening party in 2010 at Club Geminis in Ibiza harbour, Spain.
The label and El Brujo entered the electronic music scene when the legendary Maya Jane Coles charted their work in her February Chart 2011. The track was ‘Mozambique’, a collaboration with Big Mojo included on his first physical CD release, Nutty Fellas Are Go.
In January 2019, his release, Plastic Dreams, originally released on Frameworkxx, ranked at number 33 in the Beatport Hard Techno Top 100. El Brujo has released electronic music through Elektrax, Frame Workxx, LW Recordings, Subwoofer, Berlin After Dark, Music Is The Drug, Gobekli Tepe, Fortwin Rec, Bunker, Mad Rhythm, SE7ENS, Physical Techno and other labels.
His sound is central to his artistic identity and creative approach. His productions use a raw, interstellar approach across the electronic styles he works with.
The series was designed to feature a guest DJ each month from El Brujo's Wild Bunch of Techno producers and artists. For this episode, El Brujo selected promos and tracks from his stalwarts and companions.

Guest DJ Francesco Conti (second hour)
This week’s second-hour guest is Francesco Conti, a Rome-born DJ and producer whose background is closely tied to radio and rave culture. His musical development was shaped by the sounds that defined the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly Acid House and Techno.
Over the years, Francesco absorbed those influences and reworked them into a style of his own. His approach remains rooted in club music while drawing on the energy and experimentation of the period in which he began.
His career started in 1992 through collaborations with radio stations in Rome, alongside performances at major clubs in the Italian capital. In 2003, he relocated to the Adriatic coast and continued developing his work as a DJ.
A major milestone followed in 2006 when Francesco won the Equinox DJ competition against sixteen other Italian DJs from across the northern Adriatic region. The result opened the door to appearances in Ibiza, where he became involved in events on the island over subsequent years.
Francesco later expanded into production and began several record collaborations, including work connected with Jambalay Records. He has also collaborated with online radio platforms including United Techno Familia and YouMixRadio.
Across nearly three decades of activity, he has shared line-ups with internationally recognised DJs and continued refining his musical identity. These experiences reinforced his view of music as a universal language capable of crossing borders and connecting different audiences.
His artist catalogue reflects the production side of a career built around radio, clubs and electronic music culture. This guest appearance gives Francesco Conti another opportunity to present the Acid House and Techno influences that have remained central to his work.
El Brujo opens the first hour with “We Are” and “Final Takeover” before his remix of Keah’s “Just Take A Deep Breath” pushes deeper into Techno. Young Bad Twinz and “In This Darkness” maintain the harder tone, with El Brujo’s own productions giving the opening stretch a strong personal identity.
Makaja Gonzales contributes “Bounty Hunter” and “Angel Dust” before El Brujo returns through remixes for Ronnie Vineyard and Chris Van Deer. DJ D Redd’s “Eggbeater” and Tawa Girl’s “Au Lever Du Soleil” close an hour built around dark, forceful techno and material from labels including Trench, Frame Workxx and Jambalay Records.
Francesco Conti begins the second hour with Christian Hornbostel before Luke Slater and Planetary Assault Systems bring another heavyweight techno moment into the set. DJ Jes One’s “This Is Acid” introduces the clearest Acid Techno element, followed by Conti’s own “Fried Chicken” and Gianni Piras’ “Elastic Fantastic.”
Gian & Massi and Johannes Albert add contrast before Gaston Zani’s “Unruly” turns the focus back towards heavier club material. Massimo Vivona leads into Radio Slave’s “Another Club” in Charlotte de Witte’s remix, one of the strongest Peak Time Techno moments in the second hour.
Belocca’s “Chemical Substance” and Charlotte de Witte’s “Form” keep the pressure high through the final section, both sitting firmly in peak-time techno territory. Fatboy Slim with Beardyman and Cirez D then finish the programme with two large-scale club tracks that give Francesco Conti’s hour a broader closing edge.
Across both hours, the programme stays rooted in techno but the two selectors approach it differently. El Brujo’s first hour is darker and more focused on his own productions and remixes, while Francesco Conti ranges further into acid and peak-time material before closing with bigger crossover records.
