8U8A has published the playlist for his Global Bass 17 show on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an English-language electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
8U8A is a Russian DJ who began his music career as a Drum and Bass and Jungle MC in 2004, becoming a vocalist soon afterwards. In 2007, he decided to combine DJing and MCing, collecting bass music from around the world with a focus on Dubstep, Grime and Garage.
In 2011, 8U8A began listening to the Global Bass scene, and his collection expanded to include Baile Funk, Moombahton, Kuduro, Dancehall, Dembow, Cumbia, Trap, Jersey Club, Footwork and Jungle. His selections also draw on many other subgenres.
In 2014, he began travelling to share his collection and DJ and MC skills. He met and performed with friends in South East Asia, appearing in Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia.
His microphone and deck work has reached crowds across Asia, where he shares music with the regional scene. At the time of publication, he was represented by our DJ agency and performed regular shows in Ho Chi Minh City and Mui Ne, where he resided.

Kking Kong’s Uh Baile, Bellorum’s Baile Baile Baile and Luny & Buarky’s Mas Que Nada carry the early global club selections forward. Hectic’s Nu Jazz Riddim on Rave Heroes introduces Global Jazz to the programme.
Ohnyjah’s Bota Life and Pedro’s Te Rebenta lead into Molly R’s Favela Riddim, a Reggae track on Flex Up. Stzy’s Papi Chulo on Intro Clean brings baile, before Reaubeau, Creepa and Jamal’s Mist on Lowly (CMG) shifts into Dance & EDM, Zaíra and Francisco El Hombre’s Barulho Bom on Núcleo Gatopardo brings Electronica, and Die Antwoord’s Lambo Life on Zef Records supplies Rap/Hip Hop.
Nora Zion’s X5 and Ca.bron’s Tia Tamera precede Karol Conká’s Gandaia, which brings Trap through Mr Bongo. Ternion Sound’s Flex Technique on SubCarbon Records introduces Dubstep, while Mikrodot’s Jamaica on Foundation Audio moves into 140 / Deep Dubstep / Grime and Neil Landstrumm’s Shit Daddy Bass on Scandinavia Works adds UK Garage.
Pinch’s Party featuring Killa P is followed by Ternion Sound’s Pushloop remix of Up Up on DUPLOC, then ENiGMA Dubz’s Lurkin and ColtCuts’ The Vihaan. Ourman’s Sahara makes room for Center Of The Universe’s After Hours on Metronomicon Audio, bringing Skweee before Yssue’s Rusty Warped Break on Yes Belgrade returns to breaks.
Wiley’s Balance gives way to Distinct Motive’s Orchid Dub, DJ Squarewave’s Panama Papers and Arkwright’s Southpaw, all released through New World Audio. Sukh Knight’s Rampage keeps that Dubstep weight in place before Mercy’s independently released Barbados closes on a lean 140 note.
