8U8A is a Russian DJ and MC whose career began in 2004 within the drum and bass and jungle scenes. Starting as an MC, he quickly developed a reputation for energetic vocal performances before expanding his role to include DJing. His early involvement in bass music culture helped shape a broad musical perspective rooted in sound system traditions and rhythm-driven club music.
By 2007, he had begun focusing on both MCing and DJing, building a growing collection of bass music from around the world. During this period, he explored styles such as dubstep, grime and UK garage, gradually developing a sound that blended underground UK influences with a wider international approach to electronic music.
Around 2011, his musical direction expanded further as he became increasingly interested in the emerging global bass movement. This led him to explore a wide range of styles and regional sounds, adding genres such as baile funk, moombahton, kuduro, dancehall, dembow, cumbia, trap, Jersey club, footwork and jungle to his collection. The diversity of these influences continues to shape his DJ sets, which often move between bass-heavy club music and rhythm-driven global sounds.
In 2014, he began travelling internationally with the aim of sharing his music collection and performing in new environments. During this period, he connected with artists and promoters across Southeast Asia, leading to performances in countries including Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. These experiences helped establish his presence within the regional underground electronic music scene.
Known for combining microphone skills with DJ performance, 8U8A delivers sets that balance live vocal energy with carefully selected bass music. His performances often feature rapid genre shifts while maintaining a strong dancefloor focus, reflecting the wide range of influences within his collection.
Now based in Vietnam, 8U8A continues to perform across the region while maintaining a regular presence on Scientific Sound Asia. As part of the station’s DJ agency roster, he represents a global bass perspective within the platform’s international network of artists, bringing together bass music, club culture and sound system traditions.
He continues to appear at events across Vietnam and Southeast Asia while sharing new selections through radio broadcasts and live performances. Through both his DJ sets and vocal work, 8U8A remains focused on delivering high-energy performances built around rhythm, diversity and the spirit of global bass culture.
