Saigon DJ Snuck presents his second guest show, Scientific Sound Asia Radio Podcast 222, on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
DJ Snuck, whose real name is Adam Mellor, is a DJ from New Zealand who spent most of his adult life in London, the capital of the United Kingdom. His interest in music grew through the varied styles played by his parents while he was growing up.
Early rave drew him towards its forceful beats, and seeing Metalheadz introduced him to diverse sounds and stabs. Those experiences sparked his passion for DJing.
DJs including Hype and Randall informed his approach to mixing, while Goldie's darkness and intensity shaped his interest in drum and bass and house. Derrick Carter and Josh Wink also influenced his love of House Music through their use of different house styles in the mix.
DJ Snuck favours a diverse approach, selecting the music that feels right at the time, as heard in his mixes and playing style. He has played at parties and bars , as well as underground clubs in and around South London.
Although he loves drum and bass, House Music holds a particular depth and passion for him, and he plays regularly in Ho Chi Minh City at Scientific Sound Asia events as a resident House DJ for its Our House nights. His preferred sound combines Tech and Funky House, with catchy styles and riffs at the centre of his selections.
The show was originally announced for Tuesday 7 July, with a repeat broadcast scheduled for the following Saturday. Its tracklist documents a club-focused selection that moves from house through techno, disco, trance and indie dance.
DJ Snuck's second guest show, Podcast 222 opens with Chris Lake and Destructo's Y.O.D.O. on Black Book, establishing a firm House Music foundation. Induceve's Riva Starr edit of Warehouse Shit on Brock Wild then brings in Tech House detail.
FISHER's Stop It on DIRTYBIRD keeps that Tech House emphasis in place before Anti-Slam & W.E.A.P.O.N.'s Bang on General Surgery Records raises the intensity. The latter introduces Peak Time Techno without losing the set's direct club focus.
Solardo's On The Corner on Sola and Subb-an's Nic Fanciulli remix of In This Place on Saved Records return to Tech House. FISHER's extended mix of Losing It introduces Dance and Dance & EDM energy before Stephan Crown and EiZer G's Bouncing on Space Beat returns to a Tech House pace.
Greenbay Jackers' J Fader remix of Really Stoned on DOIN' WORK Records brings in Funky House, followed by Needle Damage's That Zipper Track on Moonshine Music. Jim Tonique and Patrick Bryze's Better World on Attractive precedes White Label's Billie Jean, which adds a Disco turn.
Benny Benassi's Loneliness carries a Dub credit, placing a different texture beside the house-led material. Buy Now's Body Crash on La'Mode follows before Joy Kitikonti's Phisical Mix of Joyenergizer on Media Records shifts towards Trance (Main Floor).
Bodyrox and Luciana's Brave New World on Phonetic Recordings brings the programme into Progressive House territory. AutoKratz closes with 1000 Things on Kitsuné Musique, ending the guest show with Indie Dance character.
