DJ Gerard and guest DJ Psycho-UK feature in The Hit List 033 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Gerard, who appears in the second hour, is a Deep House, Deep Tech, Tech House and Techno producer and DJ from Angeles City in the United States with a definite passion for electronic music. At the time, he aimed to contribute to the future of House music and broaden its culture through his style of play and production.
Gerard returned to Florida, USA, after a period in South East Asia and works with Scientific Sound Asia's DJ agency. He was also Nu-Disco manager for Brasbeat, Latin America's first and only digital source for electronic music, and hosts a regular podcast and mix show featuring his monthly charted music.

This weeks guest DJ (first hour) is DJ Psycho-UK, East London rude boy, hip hop turntablist, and original mad nutter, DJ Psycho got his first pair of decks at the tender age of 14 and has been dropping dope beats ever since. Growing up during the Golden Age of Hip Hop, Acid House and Drum and Bass his creative sets draw influence from diverse artists such as Public Enemy, DJ Hype, KRS1, Carl Cox, Run DMC, Portishead and the Beastie Boys, which he blends seamlessly with Jungle, DnB, reggae and other electronic music genres.
Cutting his Djing teeth in the underground squat parties of 1990s London during the age of Acid House and Hard-Core, he hooked up with the Production House Records Crew with the likes of DMS, The House Crew and X-Static. Ever tenacious, DJ Psycho drew on London’s raw and gritty musical sub-cultures of the 90s and early 2000s to develop his own dark and dirty sound, bass heavy, with up-tempo beats and funky grooves.
His distinct style soon saw him playing regular slots on some of London’s leading pirate radio stations such as AXE FM and Fantasy FM, and spinning tunes at the city’s top venues including Scala, Bagley’s Film Studios, 491 Gallery, 291 Gallery and 333.
Epitomising ‘music is my sanctuary music is my life’ DJ Psycho has toured the world with his eclectic collection of grooves, loops, riffs and beats to play countries as diverse as UK, West Indies, Australia and Vietnam. Bringing a unique, raw energy to the dancefloor for those who prefer a more mature approach to their music, DJ Psycho gets the party started right every time.
Currently lying low in dynamic Saigon, DJ Psycho founded DJ agency, promotions and event management company Scientific Sound Asia in 2013, bringing international DJs and acts to the South East Asian region. The agency also runs an English language underground radio station (this station) playing up-funked dance music and hosting slots for international groove maestros.
When not on the decks, DJ Psycho goes by the moniker of Tariq Azam. DJ Psycho-UK will be dropping some fresh releases from Green Snake Records and also playing some promos from some of the Scientific Sound Asia DJs, enjoy the show!

Cedric Salander's Lonely gives way to Deep House through Deepear's Amplified 1 on Houbless Music, following Arkady Antsyrev's Loosing You on Blind Vision Records and its Deep Tech House edge. Breed Intellegence's The Serpent follows before Marotti's With U returns to the deeper feel on Bubble 'N' Twist Records.
Joe Rosh's Parles-Tu on Electronic Division Records keeps the deep-house pulse in place, while Alexander Filatov's A Million Stars on Green Snake introduces Afro House colour. Arie Mando's Nobody on Plastik People Digital brings the section back to Deep House.
Ilya Gerus returns with the Free Game dub mix on Green Snake, before Malachi's Work It on All About House brings in House Music. Marotti's Get On on Bubble 'N' Twist Records adds UK Garage.
In the second hopurs gereard starts with Justin Jay's Future Feels on Desert Hearts Records turns towards Tech House. Sabb's Audiojack remix of Jeopardized on Radiant. holds to House Music before Ne.Hau's Mommas Groove and Arm In Arm's Moonwalk remix of Hunger For Your Vibe on Blaufield Music introduce Melodic House and Techno.
Nic Fanciulli's Understand on Rekids raises the pressure with Peak Time Techno. FISHER (OZ)'s Losing It and Artbat & Dino Lenny's Upperground lead into CASSIMM's Chus & Ceballos remix of Dances With Wolves on Stereo Productions Catalog, returning to Progressive House.
Purple Disco Machine's Dom Dolla extended mix of Body Funk on Club Sweat is followed by Matt Sassari's Waitin' for My Baby's Car and Made By Pete featuring Jem Cooke's Audiojack remix of So Long, closing the programme with its club-focused direction intact.
