Rumesh presents Petrichor 78 on Scientific Sound Asia, featuring Deep 'N' Addict (DNA) in the first hour. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Rumesh emerged during the development of Sri Lanka's underground music scene, with a particular affinity for Progressive House. He established Petrichor, a radio podcast series that hosted international talent each week, and the previous programme's second hour is this week's second hour.
Guest DJs (first hour) Deep 'N' Addict (DNA).
This week's guest DJs are Deep 'N' Addict (DNA), a duo originally formed in September 2011 by Giulian C and Reazan. Their early bookings in France and Belgium came through the Techno and Progressive scene.
Giulian C tragically died in a road traffic accident in March 2012, leaving a gap in the duo. In his memory, Reazan chose close friend Behou, also a committed Progressive House listener, as the new member of Deep N’ Addict.
They played on international radio shows and at parties alongside electronic music figures including Guy J, Slam, Funk D’Void, Stacey Pullen, Mark Broom, Mihalis Safras, Rick Pier O’Neil and Tom Hades. At the time of publication, DNA were producing and releasing Progressive House and Techno tracks, and hoped to compete with established names in both scenes.
Deep 'N' Addict open their Petrichor 78 guest set with Juan Deminicis' Prana on Dream Culture, bringing a measured Deep House foundation. Simon Vuarambon's Kaskazi on TRYBESof follows with the melodic focus associated with the programme's opening selections.
Volen Sentir's The Great Escape on Lost & Found moves into Progressive House, before Dj Zombie and Shai T's Hight In The Sky (Extented Mix) appears on Anjunadeep. The tracklist then returns to Amonita's Dream Together, released through All Day I Dream.
Volen Sentir's Sirun and DAVI's Stargazer, both on All Day I Dream, develop the set through Melodic House and Techno. Rodriguez Jr.'s Santa Cruz on Mobilee Records sustains that melodic direction in the later part of the hour.
RY X's Beacon (Epstein Remix), issued through Infectious Music, introduces the tracklist's rock reference before the closing selection. King Unique's 2000000 Suns (Monkey Safari Remix) on Bedrock Records finishes the programme with melodic house and techno.
