Petrichor 77, hosted by Rumesh and featuring Panda in the first hour, was presented on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Within Sri Lanka's underground music scene, Rumesh is a conspicuous DJ with a preference for house music with a progressive focus. He helped initiate Petrichor, a radio podcast series that hosts international talents weekly, and the preceding week's show is available in its second hour.

This week's guest DJ, Panda, is Pasindu Piumantha, whose real name identifies him as a Sri Lankan DJ from Galle in the far south of the island. His interest in music began during his teens, when he started DJing at house parties before entering the nightclub scene at the age of 16.
In his early twenties, Panda became more selective about the records he played and began digging into house and techno. In Hikkaduwa, a tourist hotspot, he managed a nightclub for well over a year, working as its resident DJ and selecting other DJs.
After a break from Sri Lanka's underground nightclub scene, he returned as a professional DJ on the island. At the time of publication, he was working on releases he hoped to issue in the following year while running his podcast series and performing at venues around the island.
Petrichor 77 opens in Melodic House and Techno territory with Andre Sobota's Chasing on Artessa Music. Axel Gaultier follows with the Speed of Life Mix of Less Is Better, released through Follow The Beat.
Enamour's Life in the Machine arrives via Desert Hearts Black before Hernan Alvarellos' Chased By Darkness on PLATTENLABEL. These selections keep the programme focused on measured melodic club tracks in its middle stretch.
Motel Sazani's Monastetiq Remix of E Ke Keq Aty, issued by Capital Heaven, introduces Progressive House to the later sequence. Rafa'EL's Revival on Afterglow follows with the same progressive direction.
Several Definitions brings Words, released on Parquet Recordings, into the final part of the set. The closing listed selection is Stas Drive, Phil Martyn and Trilucid's Abyssal (Trilucid & Phil Martyn Remix).
