DJ Marco Mei, whose Facebook page is available for updates, presents his 2019 podcast 32 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter, DJ agency and music-news platform with international outreach.
With more than twenty years of experience, Marco is an Italian DJ and producer. He started his career as a DJ in the early 1990s, inspired by the emergence of Afrobeat and electronic music during his formative years.
In the years that followed, he developed his skills as a disc jockey at festivals and nightclubs around the world, sharing the decks with Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Ralph Falcon, Sander Kleinenberg, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Justin Berkmann and Funk D’Void. These appearances placed him alongside a varied group of established club DJs.
During the early 2000s, he expanded his DJ career and secured a residency at Pacha Club in Sharm-El-Sheikh. He subsequently toured internationally, performing at underground nightclubs across Asia and beyond, including Arcan in Saigon, Fuse in Brussels, Room 18 in Taipei, Shore Club in Hoi An, Bangaluu in Berlin, G-Star in Pattaya, SOS Supper Club in Bali and NLO in Minsk.
In 2009, Marco Mei teamed up with Stefano Ugliano, also known as 6884, to form Bicycle Corporation. Together, they have produced more than fifty tracks and remixes across Deep House, Tech House, French House and Techno, with their music appearing in playlists by Sneak, Mauro Picotto, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia and Above & Beyond.
Based in Taipei, Marco has expressed his interest in art through his DJ work and the local Ciao Taipei event in 2013. That event was an important local breakthrough and connected him with a wider network of artists through Scientific Sound Asia.
His weekly show covers Afro House, Melodic Techno, Nu-Disco, Indie Dance and Electronica, alongside the house and techno styles heard in his productions. He is available for additional bookings through the DJ agency, while broadcasting weekly through the radio station.

Mike Dunn’s Natural High keeps the House Music focus on Glitterbox Recordings, before Louie Vega, The Martinez Brothers and Marc E. Bassy deliver Let It Go for Defected. Dasco’s African Power on Local Talk and Massimiliano Pagliara’s Make Love And Push-Ups on La.Ga.Sta. extend the early house-led section.
Rebuke’s Jump Ship on DIRTYBIRD introduces a firmer Tech House direction. Bon Garcon’s Hutch Extended Mix of Freek U precedes Eli Brown’s Devoshun on Repopulate Mars, which reinforces that club-focused pace.
Da Fresh’s Three Years Late leads into Simple Symmetry’s Adam Port edit of Enkidu, released through Disco Halal and bringing Indie Dance into the sequence. Dibu-Z’s Breakaway Civilization on Dominance Electricity then supplies the programme’s Mainstage entry.
Mad Funk’s Tribal Love on Cut Rec and Rees’ Love Roule return the set to a house-oriented rhythm. 2 House’s Tony Humphries Dub-mix Remix of Go Techno on Crosstown Rebels is followed by 95 North’s Check It Out on Henry Street Music.
Errone featuring Manu Dibango brings the Todd Edwards Remix of Funk Makossa into the final passage, before Lenny Kravitz appears with the Madd Gee and Tony Loreto Remix of Believe In Me. Bjork’s revisited Hyperballad with Tedd Patterson closes the show with a final change of texture.
