8U8A presents Global Bass 21 on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, promoter and music-news platform connecting audiences across Asia and internationally.
Originally from Russia, 8U8A began his journey in electronic music as a Drum and Bass and Jungle MC in 2004, later developing into a vocalist. By 2007, he expanded his focus, combining MCing with DJing and beginning to build a wide-ranging collection of bass music from around the world.
His early selections centred on dubstep, grime and UK garage, before broadening significantly as he discovered the global bass movement. Over time, his collection grew to include baile funk, moombahton, kuduro, dancehall, dembow, cumbia, trap, Jersey club, footwork and jungle, showing a wide perspective on rhythm-driven club music.
In 2014, he began travelling with the aim of sharing his sound internationally, performing across Southeast Asia in countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Indonesia. These experiences helped shape his style, combining technical DJing with vocal performance and a strong connection to the crowd.
Known for his energy on both the microphone and the decks, 8U8A has built a reputation for engaging performances that move across genres while holding a consistent groove. His approach is rooted in global bass culture and in creating a positive, energetic atmosphere on the dancefloor.
Based in Vietnam, he performs regularly across the region and contributes shows to Scientific Sound Asia as part of the station’s DJ agency roster. His sets bring a diverse selection and performance style to an international audience.
Global Bass 21 opens with 5iame5e’s Inna Heart on Dochakuso Records, a Footcore entry point before Sonido Berzerk’s When Your Child Is A Psychopath and CGRECO’s Focus on Samsara Beats introduce Drum and Bass and Breaks. Ultimate’s Nyankobrq, Dubsknit & Pzg’s Age Of Hate (Trust) and Ravers Nature sit alongside this opening run, giving its underground tone added weight.
BNDT72’s Mmm brings Dubstep to the Samsara Beats sequence, followed by Danky’s Vemod and E.Reflexion’s Après La Brume, both in Electronica. Normaling X Dev79’s Harlem Jungle then turns towards FootworkJungle, while Pressa & Dusty Ohms’ Long Awaited on Samsara Beats adds UK Garage.
Mega Nugz’s Mess Around on Reward Center returns to Drum and Bass before Puff.Magic’s Chardro on Juke Bounce Werk and Taso’s Loc'd Out Smoked Out on Teklife bring footwork into the selection. DBK’s Gentleman, Twisted Soul 9999’s Kohaku on 無責任レコーズ and DJ Krome & Mr Time’s The Licence on Streetlife bridge the footwork material with Jungle and Drum and Bass.
Daddy Freddy & Duke’s Junglist Sound on FM Records, Neekeetone feat. 1ndv’s Chanstep Numba Two and Baby Meelo’s Przedmieście Świdnickie lead into Luke Vibert’s Bad Boy Acid on Hypercolour. Stagga’s Southside and Snuffy Dog, both on Fat Fridge, keep the Drum and Bass pressure high before Барбитура’s Take Me Higher and Stardust on Classic Company introduce House Music.
Gore Tech’s Thermoptics on Ohm Resistance, Lights Out’s Roads Of Rage on Eatbrain and Lucy Furr & Limewax’s War Poem on PRSPCT Recordings push into harder Drum n Bass territory. Xeomi & Kaiza’s Dagger, Nymfo’s Hot As Hell and Worries In The Dance on Barong Family, 6Blocc’s Dakiti Rmx and Future Prophecies’ Basse The Bastard on Moving Shadow sustain the pace.
D-Jahsta’s Kill Dem Jah, FFF’s Gunfinger (Remix By Unuramenura) on Murder Channel Records and Amphetamine Virus’s Fist 2 Temple on Backwards NW bring FFF and breakcore elements into the final section. 6Blocc’s B3z3rk and Babylonbwoy 2020, Ego Trippin’s Jungle Tekno on Low Down Deep Recordings and Dub Beans feat. Bounty Killer’s Murderer establish the rave-era influence.
Aliman’s All Ganja Man on Mechanical Advantage Records, DJ Hazard’s Food Fight on Playaz and Tribilin Sound’s Dramanbeis precede Herobust’s Pipette Up (Snafu Remix), Exile’s Big Bad Purple Bad Boy on Planet Mu and DJ Starscream’s Sword Sharpening [rmx]. Deformer’s Slasher'16 (Deformer's Self-surgery), DubApe’s Centipede on Mainframe Recordings, Exile and Dread MC’s Eliminate, Turno & Riko Dan’s Fire Bun and 6Blocc’s War In The Jungle lead to Atari Teenage Riot’s Revolution Action on Digital Hardcore Recordings, ending with a raw industrial breakbeat finish that joins Jungle, Drum and Bass and Peak Time Techno.
