Igor Hush presents episode 14 of Immersion on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia is an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter that publishes music news while connecting audiences across the region and internationally.
Igor Hush, real name Igor Romanchuk, is a DJ from Chervyen in Belarus who has become a recognised figure within Minsk's emerging underground electronic music community. He holds a residency at SDJStudio in the Belarusian capital, where his sets span tech house, minimal, deep tech, Afro house and techno.
During summer months he performs across venues and festivals throughout Minsk, adapting his selections to suit different settings and crowds. As winter approaches, he relocates to Asia and entertains audiences at clubs and bars across Goa in India, Koh Phangan in Thailand and Bali in Indonesia.
His approach to DJing is guided by a belief that electronic music can be sophisticated and aesthetically considered, creating a connection between the listener and the world around them. That philosophy feeds into sets that draw from a broad range of sounds while holding a coherent and considered direction, and his work can be followed on Instagram and SoundCloud.
Immersion 14 opens with Missus's Sonzera on Terasonic Records, establishing a warm Progressive House tone. Jeff Alford's 1000 Miles on Industrial Force follows Javier Ferreira's Organic Time on Side UP Works, before Sahar's Cyan on Paradiso Records broadens the opening with indie dance selections.
Roy Rosenfeld's What Happened To Me on Rumors brings melodic detail to the next passage, while Andre Gazolla's Across the Universe on TRANSA RECORDS introduces Tech House. Guy J's Beast Of Sea on Lost & Found then returns to progressive territory, followed by Oscar L's Dimension on Knee Deep In Sound.
Lonya and Magit Cacoon's Audio Junkies Remix of Shma IL on Sincopat moves into Indie Dance, before Mytron & Ofofo's Damon Jee Remix of Miteinander on Feines Tier adds the warm Organic House quality heard in the original commentary. Blaktone's Who Are You Mr. Benson on Lost on You and Far&High's Alone on Diynamic bring the programme back towards Melodic House and Techno.
Collective States' Droid on High Tide Recordings extends that melodic house and techno thread, with Far&High's Voyager on Diynamic changing the texture. Brosso's Strange Light on KULTO and AIKON's Saturn on Exploited Club keep the central section focused on indie dance.
Jonas Rathsman's Fading Memories on Mobilee Records precedes Antithet's Push'n'Ball Remix of Apparition on Stellar Fountain, sustaining the melodic house and techno emphasis. Giza DJs and Crisstiano's Ampish Remix of Prelude on Eklektisch leads into Andre Gazolla's Hoodoo on TRANSA RECORDS, bringing tech house back into the late section.
Oscar L's Anima on Knee Deep In Sound restores the melodic focus before Made On Mars's For People on TRANSA RECORDS returns to indie dance. Julio Posadas and Manu Avila's Believing In Anything provides the final selection, closing an episode that moves from progressive house through melodic house and techno, indie dance and tech house.
