Cali’s HouseNation Radio returns with another edition hosted by Nocturne, this time featuring Metatron and De La Discoe as the guest DJs on Scientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency, promoter and music news platform, connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.
Originally from Los Angeles and now based in San Diego, Nocturne began DJing in 2007 under the name DJ Turiz. His early sets covered Reggaeton, Hip Hop, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa and Cumbia, giving him experience with several different dancefloor cultures across Southern California.
His attention shifted increasingly towards electronic music in 2013 as House and deeper underground styles became more important to his selections. During this period, he co-founded Digital Audio Kingz with DJ MORE and expanded into FM radio, creating another outlet for his developing approach to programming.
The Nocturne project emerged in 2018 alongside the launch of Cali’s HouseNation Radio. Built around the many different forms of House Music, the programme developed into an internationally syndicated series through the CHNR Syndication Network.
Radio remains central to his work, allowing him to combine the instincts developed through club DJing with the greater freedom offered by longer-form programming. His broadcasts place particular emphasis on groove, atmosphere and progression, giving individual records room to develop within the wider structure of each show.
Alongside Cali’s HouseNation Radio, Nocturne presents On the Deep End and Deep House Sessions under the DAK Music banner. These programmes provide another outlet for deeper Progressive House, Deep House and melodic electronic selections while maintaining the rhythmic focus found throughout his wider work.
His approach reflects the broad musical background established during his years performing as DJ Turiz. Rather than treating different styles as isolated categories, Nocturne draws on experience with varied music and audiences to connect records through rhythm, pacing and changes in energy.
Cali’s HouseNation Radio has also become an important platform for guest DJs and producers from the wider international House community. Episodes combine Nocturne’s own selections with guest contributions, giving established artists and newer selectors an opportunity to present their music to listeners beyond their local scenes.
The CHNR Syndication Network has extended that approach beyond California, connecting the programme with stations and audiences in different parts of the world. Its continued presence on Scientific Sound Asia adds another international outlet for the programme and the artists featured within it.
Nocturne nevertheless maintains a strong connection with the West Coast electronic music community where his career developed. His work across DJing, broadcasting, DAK Music and the CHNR Syndication Network provides several interconnected platforms for presenting contemporary underground House Music.
This edition continues that format with Metatron and De La Discoe joining Nocturne as the featured guest DJs for a back-to-back set. Their appearance adds another West Coast perspective to a programme built around House Music, club culture and the exchange of ideas between DJs working across different underground scenes.

De La Discoe and Metatron join the programme for a back-to-back guest set, bringing together two West Coast artists with different but complementary approaches to underground electronic music. Their combined session connects House, Tech House, Techno and more melodic electronic influences through a shared focus on club-focused selection and dancefloor energy.
De La Discoe is a California-based DJ and producer working across House, Tech House and Techno. His music is rooted in the underground club scene, with an emphasis on rhythm, groove and direct dancefloor impact.
Alongside live appearances, he has built his profile through DJ mixes shared across platforms including SoundCloud and YouTube. These include radio-focused sessions such as the Hot 97.7 2 AM Mix, giving listeners another outlet for his selections beyond clubs and regional events.
Collaboration also forms part of his production work, including material created alongside underground producer Munchizm. Tracks such as Bang Me reflect the harder and more stripped-back side of his sound while maintaining the groove-led approach found throughout his DJ sets.
De La Discoe remains active across California’s underground electronic music community through club nights, regional events and independently released mixes. His work reflects the crossover between House and Techno that has long been part of the West Coast club scene.
Metatron is a Los Angeles-born DJ and producer whose musical outlook was shaped by the synthesiser-rich sounds of the 1980s. That early influence remains present within his work, where electronic textures, melody and driving rhythm play an important role.
His productions range from Techno to Trance, allowing him to move between tougher club structures and more expansive melodic material. Rather than following one narrow direction, Metatron uses that range to build sets with contrasting energy and atmosphere.
International touring has taken him beyond the United States, with performances extending across South America and Europe. Those experiences have allowed him to adapt his sound to different audiences while retaining the recognisable electronic character behind his productions and DJ work.
For this guest appearance, De La Discoe and Metatron perform back to back, combining their individual influences within a shared set. The result brings together groove-led House, Tech House, Techno and melodic electronic material through two artists shaped by different corners of the West Coast underground.
Nocturne opens the first hour with five consecutive Deep House selections, beginning with Dulus and Tiffy Vera before DAYL, Jesse Maas, Natema and Saigon (UK) establish a warm and groove-focused foundation. Tim Cullen's instrumental remix of Trilucid's See Through You then introduces House Music, beginning a gradual shift towards more direct club rhythms.
Amedeo Picone and ABOUTME add the first Indie Tech selection with Sunny Grooves, while Chapa, Castelo and Najles and Stefano Noferini return the mix to House through two Deeperfect releases. MichaelBM, Jayie and Vika then begin a sustained Tech House run that continues through Alexander Zabbi, Afrojack with Lucas & Steve, Joey London Style, MartinoResi with Diego Sosa and Fran Ares with LEMAN.
No Mercy closes Nocturne's hour with Where Do You Go, bringing House back into focus after the extended Tech House section. The first hour therefore develops from a strongly Deep House opening into House and Indie Tech before finishing with its most concentrated stretch of Tech House.
Metatron and De La Discoe begin the second hour with David Tort and DJ Mara's La Nariz Rosada, introducing Melodic House and Techno before Joshwa's Freaks adds another Indie Tech cut. Dave Winnel raises the pressure with Bang It, followed by Hector Couto's El House and David Tort's Reverberate, keeping House and Tech House at the centre of the guest session.
Dum K's Bululú brings Afro House into the programme before Bad Bunny's MONACO creates the episode's clearest Latin diversion. ESSEL and Alex Mills quickly restore the club focus with Rave Is The Weapon, while Bruno Furlan's Sugar Daddy supplies another Indie Tech entry before Mike Newman's My Lovin' returns to House.
Christian's Ain't Nobody 2024 provides the second hour's Mainstage selection before DJ Dan, Mike Balance and Taurus push back into Tech House with Sock It To Me. Lauren Lane closes Episode 324 with Ryde Or Die Anthem, leaving Tech House as the most represented style across the complete two-hour programme while House and Deep House provide its other major foundations.
