Graham Goldpublished the playlist for his weekly show Esta La Musica onScientific Sound Asia. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic musicradio station,DJ agency, promoter andmusic newsoutlet, connecting audiences across Vietnam, Thailand, China, Singapore, South East Asia and internationally.
The programme takes its name from a tattoo Gold received while playing in Los Angeles in 1999. After leaving Kiss 100 and relocating to Thailand, he used the phrase for Esta La Musica as a new outlet for his club-focused electronic selections.
Gold built an international following through his weekly shows on London’s Kiss 100 and his regular club night Peach. Those platforms helped establish his profile across radio, club culture and the wider electronic music industry.
He spent eight consecutive years in the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll, including five years in the Top 40 and two years at number 22. At the time of the original profile, he was also listed by Dash as the 83rd most popular DJ in the world of all time.
His Kiss 100 shows reached hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide. Peach also became one of London’s best-known club brands, adding an important club platform to his broadcasting career.
Gold’s international DJ work has taken him across more than 150 cities in 43 countries. His appearances have included Glastonbury, Homelands, Gatecrasher, God’s Kitchen, Passion, Slinky, Impulz, Earthdance, W.E.M.F., Summadayze and Street Parade in Zurich.
Although he first became internationally known through Trance, Gold’s later work has placed stronger emphasis on House and Techno. After moving to Koh Phangan, Thailand, he became active in the island’s House Music scene while retaining links to his long-running international audience.
His island appearances have included Tommy Resort during Full Moon periods and parties such as Jungle Experience, Backyard, Pirates Bar, Oasis, La Vida Loco and Heaven & Earth. He has also been associated with Golden Vibes at KU CLUB alongside German-born Venus Vibes.
Gold has performed for many years at Culture One in Bangkok, one of Thailand’s major electronic music events. Esta La Musica has also been broadcast through national FM stations and online platforms, extending the programme beyond its South East Asian base.
His compilation releases have sold more than 700,000 copies and received six Gold and four Silver BPI certifications. That recorded output adds another dimension to a career built across radio, clubs, festivals and international touring.
